  I totally agree with HJ about 'left foot' braking in automatics. After a while LFB becomes second nature in all except an emergency braking. And while I agree with HJ about that woman and her witness who somehow convinced a jury (probably not one of them had driven an auto) when knocking down and killing an innocent person, is HJ trying to get himself sued continually naming her in every answer to LFB?

  Please advise on what I should be looking for at to be done for 54 plate jazz on its upcoming MOT and service.  It had new brake pads last year, new spark plugs in 2008 and brake/clutch fluid in 2007.  Is there anything else that is coming to the end of its life that should be renewed/replaced?  I am 73 years old and do about 5000 miles per year.

  Hi, i hope you can help. i have a 98 ford fiesta and recently i have been getting a sort of winding down whining noise when i brake and go down through the gears... somebody has suggested this may be the gearbox and a lack of oil? would this explain why my oil light comes on under braking. i have just had an oil change last month.

  Removed the hubs, the handbrake levers attached to the trailing shoes aren't seized. I've noticed though that the rest position of the lever on the near side brakes is further up than the other side. There is plenty of lining left (min 2mm, spec is 1 mm). Any ideas? The normal braking performance of the car is perfect.

  Just dropped the Fiesta off for its service and camblet. I wanted them to refit a loose mudflap and adjust the hand brake lever as it comes on too high.
