Nissan Almera Tino - is it okay to drive with air con compressor broke? 21 Jul 2016 (Forum)
Car is 13 years old but I like it. I am thinking to perhaps wait to see if it gets through the MOT in November and if all okay then sort the air con, well get a professional I know to. Question is, will driving it with this broken compressor cause further damage? -
Toyota Auris Hybrid Icon Plus - Insurance Group & Tyres 5 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Just purchasing a 1 year old Toyota Auris Hybrid Icon Plus. One thing that puzzles me is the insurance grouping for this car is 14 but for both the Icon and the Excel its 7. Sure enough insurance quotes indicate that the Icon plus for me is about £40 to £50 more than the range topping Excel but my thoughts are why and can this be challenged? -
Audi A3 Saloon - Dash cams 13 Feb 2015 (Forum)
I cannot see how the trim around the winscreen can be easily removed and I am not sure how the warranty would be affected. (The car is 15 months old). There must be power available near the interior mirror for the interior lights and the auto mirror and perhaps this could be tapped into. The local Audi dealer can offer no assistance and I would be interested to hear if anyone has overcome these problems. -

My car has started 'pinking'. ( An almost inaudible tinkeling from the engine) That's what it sounds like anyway. In the 'olden days' one got it thro'... -
BMW 3 Series Touring - Great RAC service. 16 Mar 2014 (Forum)
Went out to the car (8 year old petrol 3 series) yesterday just before lunchtime and it sounded very rough when I started it and the engine management light was flashing. Anyway called the RAC and when the technician arrived he diagnosed a faulty coil, he managed to find a parts supplier that would stay open for him and away he went. -
Citroen 2CV6 - 2CV6 won't start 6 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I thought initially that the starter motor had seized as it didn't sound like it was turning over at all, but after trying to start it with the starting handle (don't you love old cars!) I realised that the starter motor was turning the engine over, but just very slowly. I've changed the spark plugs and sprayed the electrical components with WD40 and there is fuel in the car. -

Citroen C4 2007 1.6 diesel or honda civic? 29 May 2012 (Forum)
I'm still waiting on various dealers to come back to me, 1 has a Honda civic auto 1.6 2003 with 79000 on the clock, he's making sure there is some service history, it's been company used and 1 lady owner and it will be around £2800. Do you think roughly that's an ok price for a 9 year old car?Whilst waiting my car was a citroen and I've just seen a citroen c4 automatic 1.6 2007 with 120000 but it's diesel and has amazing fuel rates, it's around £3200. Any experience with the c4's? -
Chevvy Cruze 1.6LS - Any owners on here? 27 May 2012 (Forum)
Folks, My old Mondeo is getting a bit long in the tooth, so I'm looking something to replace it. I quite like the look of the Chevvy Cruze, and 2011 cars with 20k on the clock are abundant in the dealers here for £8500. -
Ford Mondeo estate - Ford Direct 16 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Front had very worn budget tyres, clearly not factory spec. Dealer claimed tyres must be ok because car had RAC inspection certificate and that legal because had three quarters tread! Ford customer service just reiterated the dealers position. Very unimpressed and won`t be buying a Ford Direct car again. -
High (ish) mileage diesels - risk or bargain? 14 Aug 2011 (Forum)
In my perpetually restless state of mind I am really considering the possibility of buying a 4 year old diesel Audi/BMW with around 60k on the clock. Both are one owner cars, tidy with full dealer service history but I have previously only ever bought low mileage cars. The dealers party line is that '60k is nothing on one of these' but it's not just the engine is it? -
Citroen Saxo - Power steering keeps going off 9 Jul 2011 (Forum)
But does anyone know where the relay is? Ive looked in the fuse box inside the car and there are a few relays there, but i dont know which one is related to the power steering. My wife recently had a fairly serious accident on a juction with lots of sets of traffic lights inc bus lane priority lights. She was stationary saw a green light and started to move.A car from her left then smashed into the side of her spinning her around and subsequently writing a two year old c4 grand picaso off. having since sat at the same lights myself she could only have seen her green light! -
Vauxhall Astra 2.0Dti 2003 - Sticky Gearchange 15 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Hi This is my first post- lots of 'almost' answers in old threads but not quite what I want. I have just bought a well maintained 2003 2.0Dti that was with the Fire Brigade- has 67k genuine. It has a 5 speed box and the shift is not bad when cold but gets very stiff as the car warms up. -
Suzuki SX4 saloon (2009 - ) - saloon v VW Jetta 1.4 TSI 8 Jan 2010 (Forum)
I would be looking for a one-year old car for either choice. I do not do a lot of miles a year. just close to home, and reliability and comfort and a quiet engine are most important. Any help would be welcome. Brian -

C4 Picasso - EGS issues 5 May 2009 (Forum)
Couple of times it has just revved as I accelerated, no traction from the box at all. 1st time this happened (6mths ago) the garage told me that they downloaded new software. It seemed to cure it I expect the same will happen again. Car is 18mths old, done 14k miles, and it is a worrying sign that the electronics/computers etc are not up to the job. I think the car is destined for autotrader! -
Renault Modus (2004 - ) - 04 1.5 Environment filter 12 Nov 2008 (Forum)
My wife has a Modus and the day after getting an MOT teh engine management system light came on and we have established its something to do with an environment filter. The car runs fine but a local mechanic (not authorised Renault dealership) has told us it needs a new filter that will cost £169. The car is 4 years old and has done about 60k miles. It the DCi diesel model. -

MG MG ZR (2001 - 2005) - 04 1.4 coolant problem??? 26 Aug 2008 (Forum)
hi, car is a 2004 mg zr 1.4 lt. i've just have fitted a replacement radiator as the old one sprang a leak. since fitting it and running the car p to temperature, i have found that the bottom radiator hose doesnt get hot and neither of the hoses for the heater get hot either, on both hoses in question you can hold onto them without fear of getting burnt hands. also in the expansion tank, it seems to be spitting from the pipe near the top of the tank into the tank.
