Vauxhall Zafira Tourer - Advice after MOT Fail 27 Jan 2020 (Forum)
I was horrified to see that the MOT fail for dangerously worn brake pads is on there from 2018. This leads me to two conclusions. Either the brake pads had not been replaced in the February, which I paid for and still have the receipt for, or the garage thought that they would try and charge me for new brake pads which I clearly didn't need. -

Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - 2.0 TDCi - Fuel System and Brake Light Despair! 16 Nov 2007 (Forum)
Took delivery August 2005. This new car started playing up almost immediately. Two issues - first the brake lights - I would brake and the lights wouldn't come on or alternatively they would activate when no brake pedal/hand brake had been touched. Secondly the vehicle would just loose all power. Almost lost my life on the A12 trying to visit my kids. -
ALB under difficult conditions 16 Dec 2006 (Forum)
The car also was unsteerable, slaloming across the road from side to side. What did stop the car were the aforementioned bollards, not the brakes. I have previously personally experienced something like the above when driving a Toyota RAV on smooth snow, pushing the brake pedal so hard that the seat-back bent and producing only a very slight braking effect with non-existent steering. -

Citroen ZX (1992 - 1998) - 1996 1.9TD drumming / knocking noise 8 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I can't feel it either through the brake pedal (suggesting rear brakes), nor through the steering wheel - suggesting a front brake problem. When you have to slow down gradually this vibration does not appear. I have a feeling that this is probably not a brake problem as both front calipers, discs, pads and the rear shoes have been changed recently. -
Argh! MOT due next month :-( 6 Apr 2007 (Forum)
The garage were excellent and called me within an hour to say that they think that I'm being premature with the clutch but that they've looked at the rear brakes and they need replacing completely, new discs, handbrake shoes (it was totally non-operational on one side of the car) and a recommended new set of brake pads as the ones that were on were very cheap. -
