Pootling along to reach work at midnight for a distance of 46 miles ,maximum speed 50mph on A roads and all but approx 2 miles on a steady speed with the cruise control on, this is the average achieved! Now how accurate is this, sounds fantastic but is this a reflection of the actual engine fuel consumption. Any comments on this. -

Tailing up to a tailgator. 14 Mar 2005 (Forum)
On the M25 earlier and saw 2 articulated trucks driving together, the rear one literally feet away from the front one. So what's this all about? Does sitting in his tailwind help fuel economy? or is it a myth? would it work if a car tailgated a lorry? Or is it an accident waiting to happen?
