  ive changed everything.injectors fuel filter all of it.can it be the ecu is telling it to do this?i brought it with the engine running like this,so changed it and now still doin it.but used same ecu as it has the immobilser in the key fob and wouldnt start with the engines ecu so put old one on.what can this be everyone ive asked dont no.had it pluged in down my local garage help please someone out there must no what there talking about

  Curiously, the warmer the engine when the car is started, the worse the problem is but performance never deteriorates if the car was started from cold! It's as if the ECU makes some kind of decision on how to setup the engine when the car is first started. The car is an import so is now out of warranty but three ECU,s, two EGR valves and several other sensors later and nothing changed.

  hi,my, citreon c3 1.4 8v 2007 started flashing up silly errors on the dash ,it then after a few weeks went into limp mode and flashed low oil ,i took it to a garage he said wiring loom and ecu is faulty.i sent the ecu away and was told thats there nothing wrong with it.so i got a auto elect guy to repair the loom in the engine bay. the car started and rev up but the oil light was flashing. i went to it yesterday and it wont crank over ,the auto guy said it the ecu.would stop the engine turn over if the ecu was faulty.the battery and starter are ok.any advise please.many thanks ray.

  The codes are not really important here as it was a short cicuit.  Anyway after searching for a whole day I found the issue right by the ecu just as I was about to take the ecu out to test.  It was on the main loom under the ecu and had rubbed on the metal bracket. Hopefully could save someone some time. Included pictures of the fault.

  Long story but I've been back and forth to Thorney Motorsport, they have carried out diagnostics, regenerated the PDF, changed a PDF sensor and updated the ECU. As far as they are concerned all seems to be working OK but I still have the spanner light on. The garage passed all their findings on to VX technical and the response was, 'It MAY be the ECU'.

  He replaced the sensor again much better now but seem to be using much more diesel. . After a few days my ECU light came on and if i press my brake it go's off again then stays off for a week or two i have no loss of power when it comes on , I would be greatfull for any help cheers Derek

  My local garage had a look and couldn't see anything 'straightforward' wrong that they could fix straight away. They said they would need to replace the whole thing (expensive). They did ask about the new ECU I had fitted two years ago at a VW dealership. They said to check that they put in the turbo one, as if they didn't then there wouldn't be a signal to tell the turbo to work. could this be right? I called VW and they said the model they put in (WO38 906012 L) was the right one.

  The car was sometimes relunctant to start if on a slight incline but would eventually start. Recently the ECU light has come on and the engine has went into emergency / limp home mode. I toook it to an independent Vaux specialist, who ran tech 2 on it, but could find no real reason for the fault. He suggested replacing the crankshaft sensor which was done but this hasn't rectifired the error as when I go above 3K revs the light comes on and the limp home mode arrives!

  I thought that all fault codes were lost when the battery is disconnected - in this case it appears that the error message was held in the ECU memory, even without battery power, until a correct signal was received from the sensor. Can anyone clarify this?

• Honda Jazz 2008 EX - Changing battery 25 Apr 2016 (Forum)
    I have rung a couple of places for battery prices and some tell me that I will need to set up a 'trickle charge' to the leads as I change the battery as it will mess with the ECU, radio and clock settings - the clock and the radio I am fine with the ECU ???, and others tell me that it is a simple "on and off" swap. Could anyone set me straight with this please?

  I have been told that the "convenience unit" has blown , i believe that its attatched to the vehicle's ecu. Does it just plug in, do i have to have the ECU reprogrammed after it's been replaced? Do i need to remove all of the dashboard in order to get to it?   Many thanks

  Hello Folks, I suspect that it's a "yes", but does the ABS ECU store the codes? I have an intermittant sensor fault. My Vx franchise thought that the fault might need to be present when the ECU is read. Does anyone know of a gadget that reads them? I suspect that it's "Isuzu Only".

  If I started it and revvved it then it would be fine. The garage said they could not get it to stall and there were no error codes on the ECU. They then proceeded to upgrade the ECU software from v5 to v6. I went to the garage to pick it up. It started fine. As I had to fit the child car seat the engine idled for a while before I drove.

  I can hear the fuel pump priming, the engine turns over but it won't start because the injectors are disabled by the ecu. I have replaced the complete set of identical ECU, BSI unit and lock and key with transponder and no joy, exactly the same symptoms. ECU diagnostics check suggested the Comm 2000 unit could be at fault.
