VAUXHALL VECTRA 2003 1.8i LS 5d - Is this the end of the road for my vectra 19 Nov 2013 (Forum)
Garage 1 (independent) - Quoted £25 + VAT: Connected diagnostic tool - and within 30 seconds told me that there is an 'ECU fault'. On a follow-up phone call, I was told that the fault was with the 'Airbag ECU' and not the 'Engine ECU'. Luckily, he didn't charge me for the 60 seconds spent on diagnostics. Mitsubishi Colt 5-door - Ecu problems 3 Jun 2015 (Forum)
I have taken it to a few garages and they havent been able to identify the problem. Its been plugged in to diagnose and it is still unclear what the actual problem is except its an ECU problem. They also say that they wont touch it as its electronic/ecu problem. I would be grateful for any info anyone has on this and if its worth spending the money on. I have been told only the dalership can help and i know thats very expensive. -
VW Golf GT TDi Sport 2008 - VW Golf GT TDi ECU Fault 5 Sep 2013 (Forum)
The starting fault remained and i decided to get VW to do the diagnostic (at a further cost of £70). They told me that the ECU had a fault and would have to be replaced at a cost of £1250. Surely it is not the norm for a 58 plate Golf with 49k on the clock to require a new ECU? Any advice greatly received -
peugeot 306 2.0 hdi - car cut out now wont start 24 Feb 2013 (Forum)
i checked all fuses they were fine but i did relize that the fuel pump stopped whirring when key was turned, i tested the pump from the ecu relay / fuel control module(not sure what its called its a double relay behind ecu). i bridged pin no. 8 and 4 and the fuel pump kicked in. could this just be down to the ecu relay being blown or is it more likely to be something else like me frying the ecu. i dont want to start throwing parts at things. -
Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 06 1.8 o/s indicator not working 15 Nov 2009 (Forum)
My o/s indicator at the back does not work at all. All other lights etc work on the car. Garage has told me I need new ECU as they can detect a signal going to the ECU but there does not appear to be any output telling the indicator to flash. Before I spend money on this, is there anything else it could be. A new ECU sounds a bit drastic to me when its only one light not working. -

Mercedes Benz C-Class W202 (1993 - 2000) - 96 2.8 Engine ECU or Gearbox fault and cause? 16 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Just picked up a '96 C class 280 auto petrol at the auction tonight for £500 with 80k on the clock pulled away from the place OK driving along fine until it gets to the 50mph mark and it seems like it will not go into 5th once it gets to the 50-60mph area it starts to "bunny hop" engine revving up and down will not go past the 60 mark and revs to 6000rpm gearbox fault or ECU issue? -

CAN, ISO15765-4 (CAN), ISO14230-4 (KWP2000), ISO9141-2, J1850 VPW) etc that the 66kw ABS Petrol engine - single point injection ECU would talk? I am after something to read/graph/record/etc the live data (TPS,O2,CKS,etc) from the car. I've looked at VAG-COM but its a little on the expensive side.... Looking at the ELMSCAN 5 products based on the ELM electronics IC. -
ECU problem - Ford Focus tdci 27 Jul 2007 (Forum)
My 03 plate Focus 1.8 tdci broke down last week and after a week and a half of trying to figure out the problem, the garage has told me it is the ecu which controls the immobiliser on the fuel pump. Said they'd only ever seen one like it before. They've got to import the part as there's none in the country. I've been quoted £1,100 to repair the problem. -
Are ECU logged faults 'timestamped'? 16 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I'm pretty sure the fault is their doing (I didn't even know such a message existed!), but it would be nice to have some 'hard evidence'. Does anyone know if faults detected by ECUs are 'timestamped' in any way? Obviously time/date would require a battery-backed system, so maybe that's out - but recording mileage (electronic odometer) would be pretty easy. The car is a 2000MY Volvo S80.
