  hi, can anyone help,just started haveing problems with what i think is the battery.i took a trip to the tip yesterday & after getting back in the car there was no power,so ihad to jump start & everything fine untill my next destination about 5 miles & then the same again.had to jump start.i manged to get home  & charge up the battery & make a short trip and back home & switch the ignition off & restart battery flat again,so charged up battery again & left over night & try again in the morning & it started up fine.so any help where to start would be great,looking in the haynes manual it says about the sealed battery indicator & says if its on black then it should be charged,is charging now but cant seem to get it on to green,i have no warning lights comeing on dashboard about fault with battery or alternator   .thanks & look forward to some help.

    Added battery water and used my 3 stage charger that I got from Lidl.   It charges up then goes into float mode.   A friend lent me their 8 stage Ctek charger as it has more functions and also   a “Recond” function which says it recovers deeply discharged batteries.

  hi, can anyone help pls, we have had the AA out this car, a call out mechanic and still no joy, the car went dead with no power at all, so we had the battery changed and over night the new battery went flat, we have checked and clean all hearth points and checked leads, i have just put another alternator on and stiil drained all the battery, when it was driving the battery light came on and then went off, then it died at the lights but it started up that time, the light's went dim and bright when we touched accelerator.

  The old Omega's about to go. Trouble is, it's been standing for three months and the battery is now flat. I've never had the need to use the key, and the doorlock is seized up. Central locking won't work because the battery is flat, and I can't get to the battery because I can't get into the car.

  Hi Can anyone help with a battery drain problem? My Mother has a N plate BMW 328 Cabriolet auto, which has (since purchased and not from new), refused to start after say a week of non use as the battery is completely dead? BMW (several dealers) and auto electricians seem unable to resolve.

  I recently flattened my battery after a trip to a bodyshop and after MOT'ing it etc... found the garage could not start it up again. They tried jump starting it using alternative batteries and a mains charged pack that showed a full charge.

    The Varta has a 4 yr warranty, so does a replacement equivalent  Bosch (which is a bit dearer). I used Battery Megastore for the Yeti battery and they're 50 pence cheaper. Perhaps I should use them hving been OK with them last time.

  None of my other cars have I had this problem, even with the radio on for hours sometimes. I do also understand that the battery only charges when needed or should it charge the battery all the time?? Checked the indicator on the battery itself and the indicator is green. Anyone have any ideas or should I get the car checked out??

  There is a bolt and bracket (attached to the belt) on the left hand side of the battery attached to the plate that it's sitting on. The battery seems to be independent from this bracket but I could be wrong! In short, I can't see anything attaching the battery to the plate. I'm certainly no mechanic but like to think of myself as a relatively intelligent, practically minded guy.

  After 9 1/2 years my old Masterparts battery finally died. Who makes these? Actually, like all new batteries it gave no warning at all and on a pick-up at the airport (it's always at a critical time) it was stone dead on a hot day. Jump start and we were off. £68 later at Euro Car Parts we have a 096 Bosch Silver Maintenance free battery.

  I would like to monitor my battery with some sort of in-car gadget so that I don't end up with a dead battery. It would need to be portable so that I could also use it in my wife's Yaris. Any ideas or experience would be greatly appreciated.

  The batteries in this car go flat after some weeks non-use. Next time I leave it, I intend to attach a trickle charger. Do I need to disconnect any leads? Do I connect across both batteries or just one?

  I need a battery charger for my Mk3 Golf. I have a £10 Argos voucher so would like to buy it from there. They have 5 types - the cheapest is not suitable as the battery is a 62Ah. Has anyone any experiences of the ones they sell in Argos?

  Looking for recommendations for a good decent car battery. The battery is to go into a 406 1.9 TD & will be mostly used by my wife to take herself to college & 2 of our kids to school. It will do no more than 8 miles a day MON-FRI with a distance run every other month.

  Can anyone tell me the correct battery for my 1997 Vauxhall Vectra 2.0 Auto. The hand book offers 4, 44Ah/55Ah/66Ah/70Ah and no indication which is right for my car! Various local battery suppliers say 40Ah is plenty big enough and others say must be 60Ah.

  The handbook doesnt state the correct battery spec, so we dont know whether its a knackered 063 that needs replacing, or it should be an 065 in there. Also, on trying to start it with a almost flat battery the alarm always sounds on turning the engine....the AA guy said this always happens on any alarm...is that also correct or could the alarm be faulty and draining the battery whilst standing.

  I appreciate if the battery is too low the vehicle disables these functions.   I have never been unable to start vehicle so battery is adequate but think not much reserve for multiple starts. And possibly contributes to shortening the life of the battery.

  My wife's SLK 350 had a flat battery after only 2 weeks in garage, (Holidays) all appeared to be switched off, car locked ( Locks itselfr after a few minutes anyway ) had a new battery 23 months ago from Halfords (£123!). Halfords have tested the battery and it's OK.
