  Just a bit of advice really regarding legal rights on rejecting a car... I purchased a 59 plate audi a4 with 75k on clock Drove home 180 miles and had warning lights flash within a day, advised the garage, within one week had to fill 3lts oil! Not normal. Garage firstly advised to refer to independent audi, they found spark plug no3 sat in oil a sign I'm told that piston rings need replacing cost of 1500!

  My 1998 audi a3 1.8t is off the road due to a missfire and violent shaking it sounds like a subaru and performs poorly,it has a str8 thru custom exhaust,i dnt know if this plays any part in the cause of the fault, basicly i noticed for a while the car felt like it was pullin bk for a slight second every now n then,then i was driving up a steep hill and all of a sudden it started to missfire so i headed home,i hav had a mAte briefly look at it and plug it in it came up with no fault codes, he switched all plugs over and came to the conclusion 1 isnt working he said he needs to do further tests on it as he suspects possibly a valve blown?

  The performance is quite frankly astounding for the price - as you recommended we only run it on V-power and it seems to be getting faster and faster as the engine loosens - the current A3 is due to be replaced next year and they now do a 40k RS version - my audi dealer(who has driven one ) tells me it's not as good as the S3 as it's only marginally quicker and the ride is awful - also it's auto only. It looks great in white with the standard titanium alloys - the boys in my daughter's class voted it the coolest car at the school(M5's, GTRs Range Rovers and others costing twice as much notwithstanding).
