  The air con has packed up, I switch it on at least once a week to lubricate seals etc, belts are ok, where does one start? I am ok with standard mechanics but a/c is new to me, any help would be welcome, thanks.

  The air con compressor on my Astra 1.6 16V 1997 has developed a noise a bit like an old fridge. I have stopped using the A/C as a precaution. Does this mean big bills or just a regas?? Any advice would be much appreciated.

  Hi all Have had this problem with the car since I bought it around two years ago!  The air con does not work at all although the light on the button lights up.  The air does not blow very forcefully out of the vents no (regaardless of whether the air con is on or off) until the recirculated air button is pressed the fan then kicks in and blows air out a more forcefully.

  Hi, My dads Y Reg micra has just had its air con recharged and now the 4 speed fan control only runs on the fastest speed, with or without the air-con on? Could the garage that did the recharge have done something to upset the fan control??

  Hi, we have a 2003 Civic old shape and today during a drive in what was a hot spell I noticed the air con was not working. I switched it off and there was no difference in the temperature of the vents.When I arrived home I sat with the car at idle, air con switched off, when I switched it on there was no load placed on the engine at all and the rev counter remained steady, the air did not get any cooler.

  2005 Vectra 2.2 sri. My air con was working perfectly, then just stopped. The light comes on on the dash when selected and the fan is working but the air temp does not go cold. A friend in a Ford garage carried out a gas check and said there was no leak on the system (his machine checks for leaks then recharges the gas) he repressurised the system but the air con is still not working.

  my seat mk3 blower, air con has more smelly recently, almost making one feel bit sore throated at times is this a filter replacement job? I have no idea where such filters are located, thanks for all advice in advance

  Swiching noice - which in-/decreases with speed - identified by main dealer as caused by air-con compressor which needs replacing at cost of parts £800 plus labour 5.5 hrs, a total of £1,300. Doesn't sound right.  Any suggestions, please?

  In the manual for my car it says it must be 4 C or higher - haven't been able to get the air con to turn on in the past few days. It makes a click sound when I push the button, but the light doesn't come on and neither does the A/C.

  Does anyone have the wiring diagram for the Air Con system on a 98 Primera (96 - 99 model) which they could email me ? I have the factory manual for the P11 - 144 model (1999 - 2002), but this is of no use as it shows a fully automatic climate control, where mine is the basic manual system

  Hi, I have a 2001 '51' Civic Sport SE and the air con has stopped working. I've owned the car for 4 months and had it re-gassed when I bought it as the air con wasn't blowing very cold. It worked for a while but gradually stopped. The garage that re-gassed it for me put some dye in the air con system to see if there was a leak somewhere.

  Have noticed during this hot spell that a lot of cars are driving with one or more windows open,I have told my wife never to open windows while the air/con is on as this will overload the unit as it tries to keep the temperture down,am I right in this my thoughts are based on an air/conned bungalow we rented once in Florida where the instructions were to not leave any doors to the outside oped as this would overload the system.Could these drivers be storing up trouble if as I suspect their air/con is on?.
