  Please don't give me the diesel vs petrol arguments, it'll be a diesel for my 16k a year, interested in anyone's experiences with the newer Volvo D-- engines, it would be  a D3 or D4. It appeals as no Adblue, seemingly good real mpg and quite well rated by HJ in an S40. However, there is plenty on the internet about "EGR cooler" problems on these.

  We picked up this one year old V60 in March from Stoneacre Volvo Lincoln.  The car was immaculate having been a Volvo staff car with 11676 miles on the clock. 3 months of trouble free motoring followed locally in South East London and on Motorways.

  Having agonised over a new (2nd hand new that is) car for a few months I have to make a choice this week betrween a 59 plate Focus 1.8 TDci and a 58 plate Volvo S40 2.0D S. I like the way they both drive, the Focus probably having the edge in terms of excitement (let's face it you'd never call a Volvo exciting would you?) but the S40 feels like a solid motor that you could run forever.

  Was very pleased to receive the straight off reply "Known problem. Standard 50% goodwill contribution From VCUK for all Volvos less than four years old". Politely and professionally handled as was the offer of when to do the work, and nice to see after the (admittedly much more costly to Volvo) ETM debacle that's had much airing in the press.

  Once again i thank you for that. My wife needs a car of her own and she has been going on about the Volvo S80 and its now doing my head in. Anything to keep her off the BMW will be good. Whats the word on buying a volvo S80..V, W, X Y reg..with more than 100K on the clock...say for about £5000. Or does somebody own an S80 and can they tell me a bit bout it..Cheers..

  He made the seat safe and escorted us to Volvo. We left it there and today they have called to say that as the seat is safe we can collect it. They have offered to replace the seat for £900. I was expecting a more concerned reply from Volvo.

  My Volvo S60 is due it's 96,000 mile service, which includes the cambelt change. I have been quoted the following prices, both using Volvo technicians and original parts. Volvo Main Dealer - £778 Local Volvo Independent - £435 I got the independent quote first, then called the main dealer.

  I am trying to improve my knowledge of car headlights and improvements. I have read in specs for Volvo S40 2011 - * Headlight Levelling system * Active Bending Lights with headlight cleaning system. What does all this mean ?  Is it of value ? or more things to go wrong ? I find HJ more active and more use than marque forums.

  I have been quoted £300 by a specialist trim company in SW London to replace this as my Volvo dealer says the kit is no longer available. Is this reasonable? I live in Epsom,Surrey - does any one know of a specialist  locally perhaps.   Geilo

  "With the Volvo XC60, we are widening our model range to attract even more customers with an active urban lifestyle." I presume it's a bad translation from the original Swedish, where the phrase "active urban lifestyle" means something other that wearing trackie bottoms and a hoodie and carrying spark plug ceramics.
• Saab/Volvo/Nissan, Less reliable? 27 Apr 2006 (Forum)
  Was pondering this on the way to work this morning (radio was boring me!). Are the likes of Saab/Volvo and Nissan less reliable than they were before being swallowed up by the big fish? They have always been a challenger brand and stood for quality and reliability and went on forever. Doesnt seem the case now.

  Forget the dealers, prices, styling, servicing costs etc. Focus on the reliability issues only, please. Which do you think is generally more reliable: 1) Volvo 2) SaaB Please consider only the latest models (9-3, 9-5, S60, S80 and so on...). - - - - - - - I am the only Pole over here.

  hi, I have a Volvo S60 T5 SE with an HU-803 Audio system. Recently, i heard that the some sort of diagnostic can be "engaged" using the radio, i have also seen pictures, so this MUST be true, i'm just wondering if anyone knows how to get to it?

  I have bought some LED indicator bulbs for my Volvo S60 as it eats bulbs for breakfast, however, when i put them in, the LED\'s light up and flash but the car flashes the indicators as if an indicator bulb has fused, fast ticking! does anyone know what i can do to stop this.

  Then you need the Volvo 960 that actor Paul Newman specified with a supercharged V8 under the bonnet! Looks very professional, too, and from the outside at least, pretty standard. Now that IS a Q-car! It's for sale, too.

  i have found that the volvo 900 series has a problem, the throttle can jam, which is quite dangerous. also the brake servo can fail, which is even worse, the problem also effects some of the 700 series, i am not quite sure of the dates, so its best to contact a main dealer.

• Volvo v70 2.4 automatic 2000 - Radiator replacement 15 May 2018 (Forum)
  Hello,    My recently aquired volvo v70 2.4 automatic, has developed a coolant leak. It seems to be coming from between the cooling fan housing and the radiator. It drips down onto the garage floor at night and when looking underneath seems to be driping from the centre of the radiator.
