Mitsubishi Outlander - Specialist who can replace satnav hard drive? 6 Nov 2014 (Forum)
The satnav/music system/radio on my Outlander has packed up - think they call it MultiMedia Communication System...Mitsubishi say it will cost c£2000k plus fitting to replace as it comes as a sealed unit. They can't even diagnose what the fault is but I know it's almost certainly a hard disk failure. -
Mercedes-Benz C220 CDi Estate 2011 - Comand Problem 29 Dec 2013 (Forum)
This afternnoon it started then towards the end of the track the unit switched off completely then restarted, playing from towards the start of the same track and reading 'disc loading'. This it continued to do. I cannot get it to change tracks or change to radio or access the sat-nav. It is well and truly jammed. When it is light and the gales have stopped I will try disconnecting the unit then after a period to reconnect. Will this work please? -

Skoda Octavia - Battery Leakage 13 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Is there anything consistent coming through on this one - the blame seems to fall in equal measures on bluetooth, internal light, glove box light, boot light, radio - a new battery was installed a couple of years ago but at the first sign of cold weather - bingo - a dead car. Love the rest of the car but being a couple of pensioners, we do need it to be reliable. -

Peugeot 406 Excecutive - Airbag Light 12 Apr 2010 (Forum)
I have a 2002 peugeot 406 executive, the airbag warning light comes on when the car is started, not all the time but most of the times, and it displays airbag fault on the middle display where the radio is found, and then that message goes away what bothers me is the light on the instrument cluster which wont go away. Is there some way of stopping this airbag fault, the indicator stalks in my car are brand new so that is not the cause of the problem, and i have heard about a wire under the seat but my car has electrically moving and heated seats so there is quite a collection of wires. -

Discussion on Radio 4 today about electric cars being a lot quieter than fossil fueled motors ... a petrol/diesel motor can be heard from 12ft away where'as an electric job can only be heard from 3 ft away (have I explained that properly!) -
"6+ points may prohibit your application" 18 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I nearly crashed my car when I heard those words on the radio as part of a job ad tonight for driving instructors, together with the stipulation that a UK or EC licence is required. I've just checked the ad on line and it's true. So you can learn to drive on the right and (apart from our Irish chums) not have English as your mother tongue, then get more than 6 points on your licence and you still might be OK to train others how to drive? -

M40 and Oxford -nightmare today 20 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Yes it was bad on the way up, but the return journey around Oxford was a nightmare I have never seen so many lakes and stranded cars as I have today, along the A40 between Witney and Burford, and all surrounding "short cuts" there were roads cut off and 50 cars swamped. Also heard on the local radio, a German police officer came out of a pub in the Oxford area, and turned into what he thought was a flooded road, only to disapper into a canal- whose got the full story -
Roadworks on M1...Advice needed please 20 Jul 2007 (Forum)
M6 is always a pain but, in particular, I wonder what awaits me on the M1 in the region of Junction 8? I regularly hear references on Radio 5 to The Roadworks in that vicinity as if they are something permanent :o( What sort of delays am I likely to encounter there? I will not be travelling in the rush hour but I suppose most times of day are rush-hour-ish the nearer one gets to London! -

Farewell to Cassettes 12 May 2007 (Forum)
Do we all remember compiling our favorite driving tape? Can anyone explain why some car companies still insist on placing radio cassette players in their base models. It must be costing them more to buy these than the standard cd player. Am I being cynical in assuming that this is merely there way of punishing you for buying the base model. -
Citroen Saxo 1.6 VTR - Ignition Switch 17 Apr 2007 (Forum)
The electirc windows work intermittantly. The steering is heavy for a short distance then it returns to normal, at this point the radio and heaters also start to work. I took it to a garage and they said the electic ignition switch needs replacing (at first the said the alternator), at a cost of around £250. Does this sound right or could anyone help? -
Citroen Xsara Stereo 15 Mar 2007 (Forum)
As best as I can I have checked the connections, both going into the unit and also into the back of the stereo itself and I have also changed the fuse. In addition to this the steering column mounted remote controls don't work either. The main radio Any ideas? My wife would love to listen to her cd's and it would give me a quieter life as well! Many thanks -
Emissions 11 Jan 2007 (Forum)
