  It was a controversial decision at the time and the People’s Princess was criticised for not driving a British model. Diana returned the car to Dovercout four months later, having clocked up about 4000 miles. The car was then bought by political commentator, broadcaster and author Ian Campbell Dale. After two years of ownership the car changed hands again, its next owner, a neighbour to Kensington Palace, owned it for the next 17 years.

  Power comes from a 432bhp 5.4-litre V8, which gives the car a top speed of 160mph and a sub-six -seconds 0-60 time. The car was first registered in 1987 and was kept by the factory before being sold on to the first of its three owners. The last owner purchased the car in in 1990 and added it to his private collection.

  Seventy cars set for Malta classic 4 Aug 2016 (News)
  Seventy cars are set to take part in this year’s Malta Classic in October. The event, which is one of Europe’s best vintage car rallies, takes place at the Grande Dame hotel on 6-9 October. It features a hill climb, concours event, and a race on the circuit outside Mdina.

  If the car is subject to a recall, the owner will be directed to a nearby dealership. Operated through Motor Codes, a regulatory body for the UK motor industry, it has the backing of the major car companies and should simplify the recall process for both manufacturers and consumers – and ultimately improve safety.

  Shell 'working on' city car concept 9 Apr 2015 (News)
  Shell has confirmed it is working on building its own city car. The Shell Concept will be fossil-fuelled and created by former McLaren designer Gordon Murray. The car is expected to be unveiled in November 2015. The Shell Concept is being created in collaboration with former McLaren designer Gordon Murray and Honda F1 engine designer Osamu Goto.

  BMW 2002 Turbo project makes £25k at Anglia Car Auctions 26 Aug 2014 (News)
  A 1975 BMW 2002 Turbo restoration project made £25,410 when it went under the hammer at Anglia Car Auctions over the Bank Holiday weekend. Offered with no reserve, the two-owner car has so-far covered 47,921 miles but is now indeed of a full restoration, including new sills. There’s some good news for the buyer, though – the car does run and all of its Turbo-specific parts and trim are there and unmolested (although it’s currently on Minilite-style wheels).

  Rallying with Group B and the Historic Rally Car Register (HRCR) will be giving demonstrations on the Melbourne Loop at the Donington Historic Festival (3-5 May).  Donington Park used to be an RAC Rally stage and, Group B cars are still considered a historic highlight.
