Peugeot 3008 - Lease Car - Mechanical fault during (non)delivery 19 Jun 2024 (Forum)
I have taken out a 2 year lease (not PCP/.finance etc) on the 3008, which made financial sense for us given our particular circumstances. The car was not delivered on the day, and on inquiring with lease company late afternoon, they said that the dealer advised that the car developed a mechanical fault on its way. -

Hi, Just looking for some advice. I purchased with 0 deposit a car on finance back in august. First time buying a car. It was second hand 2019 Fiat 500. I bought it from a reputable dealer with many Branches throughout the north. It came with 1 year tax paid by the garage. -

Bring back the Motorshow 13 Aug 2020 (Forum)
I left the trade shortly after as I could see the way it was heading. White goods bought on never-ending finance then thrown away at the end with no equity retained. I was never good at selling something I didn’t believe in. I wish the car show would return but it’s been sadly killed by the PCP/Contract lease and the never-ending above inflation rise in costs these events attracted. -
Golf GTD - Buying a Golf GTD 31 Aug 2019 (Forum)
I’ve found one, which looked perfect, barre the mileage (which I was a little uncomfortable with, but it was the only negative when I first looked) that sits around the 70K mark. After hashing out a deal with a big-name dealer, I’m financing the car at £250 a month, which includes 2 year Warranty, Servicing, MOT and Paint/Cloth protection. Perfect for my budget. After putting down a reservation deposit, the dealer rings to say there’s a couple things that need fixing on the car (a scratch on the bumper and new plates needed) and it’ll be with me. -
Car purchase from private seller 11 May 2019 (Forum)
Escalated to HCW & enforcement agents called 3 times but the door was not answered at defendants address & all vehicles parked at the property were on finance. In December I received a letter from a solicitor acting for defendant claiming he did not receive claim form as the address used was his parents & not his. Set aside hearing was last month & dismissed by judge as no defence filed. -
VW Golf - Used car dealer - insurance question 28 Sep 2017 (Forum)
We then had to sign a half a dozen forms to say we didn't want anything other than the car thanks (finance, gap insurance, breakdown insurance blah blah). We did the VED on the computer and I set it the direct debit and then the salesman says that he just needs to see our insurance certifcate.... er nope, did it on the phone 2 hours ago... anyway, it was too late for our insurance company to do anything so we had to leave our new car car on the forecourt. -

Auction bargains - No V5 21 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I don't need to change, but I am tempted and may keep the Focus in the famly and move my mother's Punto on. Anyway, enough background ....... to the point There were some uber bargains yesterday in the Finance Section (reposessed), for cars with no V5 or other paperwork. I know , if it was reposessed might not have been well looked after etc. I know, future value is a problem, but I buy cash and keep cars for a good while. -
Bought a lemon! First ever new car! 11 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Do I have to accept this. Ideally I think I would prefer my deposit back and enough money to settle my finance off and by a BIKE!!! Please can anybody advice as so many people keep telling different things. I though about going down the legal route but I would probably end up with a whopping bill knowing my look. -
Dealer advice re naff Vauxhall 20 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I have just over 12 months to go on the hire purchase before I hit the magical 50% mark when I can tell the finance company to stick it where the sun don't shine so I can't get rid of the car this instance without a financial hit. Question is, should I ask the attractive girl out on the reception? :) Just joking - real issue is I shall be speaking with the MD of the dealership later today and whilst I already have something drafted voicing my complaints and concerns, I would like to hear any comments you might have, perhaps from similar experience.
