Xsara Troubles 20 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Got a good condition 99T Citroen Xsara Westcoast Coupe (2-dr) with the 1.4i petrol engine. Nice car to drive but sadly flawed when it comes to ownership. Just been serviced and the mechanics could hardly remove the spark-plugs without serious tools on them - and they are not even due for replacement yet (its only done 21000miles). -
Freezing Washer Nozzles 20 Dec 2001 (Forum)
Is it just the cars I've had - Peugoet/Citroen/Ford/Volvo - or do other cars have washer nozzles that freeze up. It sure isn't rocket science to use some of all that spare heat under the bonnet to keep things warm. It's dangerous to have a dirty windscreen on the motorway that you can't wash because things are frozen up. -
Fully Expensed Car Pitfalls 25 Jun 2001 (Forum)
Will I be taxed to the point of pain, or be able to put all fuel on the company card without worrying? Also on another front, I will be sorry to have to say goodbye to my Citroen ZX XUTD. It is the best motoring decision I ever made. All 143k miles of it! Any comments greatly accepted on either disposing of the ZX, or the pitfalls of the 'perk'. Regards Simon -
MG HS - Running in new car 10 Jan 2022 (Forum)
Both my youngest daughter and I have new MG HS's on order for March (hopefully) They are both petrol 1.5 manuals This will be my first new car since 1994 (Citroen ZX in case you were wondering!) and I'm keen to run it in properly (assuming that's still a thing that one should do) My understanding is that it's best to vary the revs quite a bit i.e. don't set a limit of say 2 or 3 thousand rpm but equally avoid thrashing to the red line and also not to let the car labour in high gear, all maybe for the first 1000 miles or so. -
Peugeot Boxer - Peugeot Boxer 1.9 - Smoking issues 14 May 2011 (Forum)
When the engine gets up to temp this does die down a bit but does not go away altogether. Could this be an injector fault? If so, I also have my wifes old 1994 Citroen Xantia 1.9 Turbo Diesel sat rotting away with a good engine - are the injectors compatable? Many thanks in advance and kindest regards . -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Mondeo Estate - Has it got a cargo net? 2 Oct 2009 (Forum)
Thinking about trading our Citroen Berlingo for something just a little more car like. Berlingo great for local trips bit can be tiring on long motorway journeys. Anyway, thinking of a Mondeo estate. But can anyone tell me if it comes with a cargo net, like Mercedes estates do? -
Journalism standards 24 Dec 2008 (Forum)
s distinctive flagship, which revives a name last used on luxury versions of the legendary Sixties? DS.' Now I acknowledge that I'm a Citroen fan and should know such things aren't correct but surely so should someone writing for a motoring mag or his editor come to that. It's not as if the CX Pallas was a rare car in it's time. I'll get me coat. -
Dacia-Renault Logan (2004 - ) - Logan ever coming to UK? 9 Jul 2008 (Forum)
If anyone on this forum knows the answer I'd be very grateful as I'm currently considering getting a Citroen Berlingo, but would rather wait for a the 7 seat Logan if it's going to be marketed here. -
Which new option would you recommend for SWMBO 2 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Will be used for only a minimal mileage per day but due to her working hours needs a reliable car. Also required to carry our twin 4 years olds. Options I'm looking at. Citroen C1 FIAT Panda Ford Ka 1.3i Peugeot 107 Toyota Aygo Hyundai Getz Your opinions or alternatives would be appreciated. All can be bought for £6000 and under with different amounts of spec. I guess the Ka and Panda will have the most spec but does this make them the better car to buy ? -
Brake light switch failures. 1 Mar 2008 (Forum)
Hi, My mate found last night that his Citroen Picasso brake light switch had failed and was driving with no brake ligths at all. He bought a new switch and all is corrected. My question is on my car (Mk 5 golf) I have a bulb failure warning light but would this activate if the brake lights switch failed? -
Peugeot Partner Combi (2001 - 2004) - Pugeot Partner Combi - Buying a Demonstrator 27 Nov 2007 (Forum)
They no longer need all the seats of 806 but still want load space and a high(ish) driving position. They have been looking at Citroen Berlingos, but this Partner looks like a good deal (Air con is a requirement). Any advice about buying a demonstrator? Good price? List price new is £12,987 -
Favourite/Disappointing cars you've had 16 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Not the greatest car in the world but I do miss my Citroen BX 16V.Quick for its day(and still, 0-60 7.5s 140 mph), great handling, economical , spacious , very different compared with all other hot hatches around, tons of extras , comfortable. Probably one of the last great Citroens.Owned in the days before blanket speed camera coverage! -
Xsara poor running 18 Jun 2007 (Forum)
We have a 2001 Citroen Xsara 2.0i 16v (137 bhp) which on occasions doesn't run quite as it should. Sometimes it is fine, but on other occasions there seems to be a hesitancy. For example when in 3rd gear if you put your foot down there will be a hesitancy around 3000 rpm for a few seconds, then ok, then the same at 4000rpm. -
Are we patriotic about cars? 17 Mar 2007 (Forum)
If you go to any European countries, you'll mostly see local brand cars! Example: France - Citroen, Peugeot, Renault Germany - Mercedes, Audi, VW etc. Sweden - Volvo, Saab (Merc & Audi pretty well too) Spain - Seat (and Skoda too) Czech Rep - Skoda Netherlands - mostly European cars even USA - Ford, GM etc. -

new car for about 1500? 19 Apr 2006 (Forum)
Hi all, for the last 5 years ive just driven old citroen xantias. Ex taxis that i have purchased for 500-800 quid at a time from my father who has used them for the previous few years. They have done me great aside from one of two problems, the worst being the heater matrix once that cost about 350 to fix. -

AC - Distilled/Demineralised water 5 Oct 2003 (Forum)
Hello Folks, A recent premature failure of a radiator on my Citroen XM (3 yrs 35K) prompts me to consider using strictly only demineralised/distilled water for both replacement and top-up. Does anyone know of a decent bulk source? I really do not want to buy bijou litre "battery top-up" bottles from Halfords at £££.
