Whilst out walking the dog at about 6.15 this evening I past a 56 reg MINI. It was parked, engine off, apparently locked and no keys in the ignition, but the wipers were working. They were moving fairly slowly and very juddery. Drove past at 9.30 and they were still going. -

SWMBO wants a mini 18 May 2005 (Forum)
SWMBO has finally decided to give up her aversion of driving - (it's only lasted since 1993) and let me buy her a mini - not the bmw type btw. I've had a look on e-bay and the usual sites - question is will £2k get me a half decent runner and what in particular (like what's a rusty sub frame please) should I be looking out for? -
BMW may be doing a Clio V6 style Mini. 10 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Heard over the weekend that as a run-out for the current style Mini, BMW are going to produce either a 270 BHP front engined car or a mid-engined version Renault Clio V6 style. The front engined car is up and running and being tested but as I was getting a bit Brahms, I cannot remember whether a prototype has been produced for a mid-engined car....annoyingly as I would love to know there was! -
New MINI 3 Oct 2001 (Forum)
Picked up the girlfriends new MINI Cooper on Saturday. It's fab! Even worth paying a months tax for just 2 days use....... Its a very nice piece of kit and everyone is stopping outside our house to have a look! Lovely to drive - feels like a much bigger car on the motorway and yet like a Caterham on the country roads! -

MINI Countryman cooper D 4WD - Transfer box 11 Jan 2018 (Forum)
Picking up on HJ reply today, if it were my car with 28k miles and less than 4 years old I would be seriously unhappy faced with a bill of £2114 from Mini dealer. HJ answer whilst describing a possible cause was at best unhelpful. Is there a warning in the vehicle handbook that disparity of tyre tread can cause a costly problem? -
MINI Cooper D - Mytyres 4 Nov 2016 (Forum)
I ran the car through last winter without working sensors. I have since had the tyres removed from the rims and checked. There were no sensors. The Mini dealer has fitted sensors at a cost of £58.50 per wheel. I have informed Mytyres and to date have received no compensation. ?? CAVEAT EMPTOR (buyers beware). -

MINI Cooper S R56 - MINI Cooper S Timing Chain Failure 21 Oct 2019 (Forum)
I'm wondering where i stand with regards to warranty. The car is out of it's 3 year manufacturer warranty, and i've read that BMW/MINI parts come with a 2 year warranty, but only if you pay for them, if it's done under warranty, this does not apply, and they are only covered by the cars 3 year warranty. However, given that it seems to be a known problem, and the car is on 24k, 3 months out of warranty, and seems to have snapped a timing chain, i'm wondering what i can expect from the garage, or MINI UK? -
Mini Cooper S - Turbocharger warranty 7 Nov 2021 (Forum)
In August this year the turbo on my mini went. 2K later the garage fitted a new one and said that an oil change after 500 miles is advised or it may void the manufacturers warranty. Low and behold I completely forgot about this and have only just booked it in for an oil/filter change 3000 miles later. -
Mini Cooper clubman 57 plate - Worn inner walls of tyres 29 May 2018 (Forum)
My mini has failed it’s MOT due to worn inner walls of back tyres (tread is absolutely fine). The same happened last year! The garage has previously investigated tracking but say they can’t adjust it in the way it needs doing. -

Goodwood Revival - Classic Mini Race 23 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Hello all Was at the Goodwood Revival this Sunday, had the great pleasure of watching the 50th anniversary of the Mini celebrated in race form as twenty-somthing mid-sixties Cooper 'S's thrashed it round the track. I am currently locked in a debate about how fast these cars can actually go. All were using the 1293cc engine, my dad swears that they were reaching 120mph down the Lavant Straight. -
MINI Cooper R50 (2001 - 2007) - 04 1.6 boot lock problem 30 May 2008 (Forum)
Hi, does anyone have a problem with their Mini boot lid locking itself and refusing to be opened either by remote or by pressing the contact under the boot lid handle? Mine has adopted a random approach to opening and I am having to resort to the emergency cable. -
buying a classic Mini 20 Dec 2007 (Forum)
I am thinking of buying a ' classic ' Mini , around 1993 on K - L - M plates - am viewing one today in fact : They seem a bit pricey , suppose they are ' collectable ' now , but the ones I've seen are non Cooper and the asking price around £2500 - a bit much for 15 year motors with a history of sub - frame rot , or is this the real price today ? -
Mini depreciation 'shock' 26 Sep 2006 (Forum)
The car has, of course, been put back on the forecourt with a significant mark up. I'm not surprised, but I bet a lot of current mini owners will be.
