  Alright folks, hope I've got the right sub-forum?! I was up looking at an 2009 Audi A3 1.4 TFSI earlier with a mate that works as a mechanic for Audi. He gave me the all clear on the car: no codes appeared, new engine, clutch and timing chain etc. Aside from a small bit of bubbling from the Manifold that he thinks is just a result of it not being tightened enough when the engine was put back together, all looks good!

   My car with 29,000 miles is OK when cold but after 8-10 miles and especially when hot after a motorway journey judders sometimes quite badly.  Problem was noticed at 10,000 miles but Audi dealership couldn't reproduce the problem.  The technician at Audi confirmed it was a problem about 10 days ago and the car is in the garage under warranty but the feedback so far today is that no problem can be diagnosed.

  Last year when my 57 Reg Audi A3 was being serviced I was lent an A4 as a courtesy car. It had an electric handbrake which after nearly 40 years of driving with manual handbrakes I found a complete nightmare. I put this down to never having used one before and found myself holding the car on the clutch as I had no confidence in the electric handbrake.

  I had my Dual Mass Flywheel replaced in August 2012, it was carried by an independent garage, but he used a genuine Audi part, the problem started again in December, there is a wobble on acceleration and when going up hill and I took it back to the garage for him to look at. He has told me that the car has to go back to Audi for them to investigate as they supplied the part and am I alright to risk paying them £130 an hour to look at it, as they might find its something else, it is the same problem and symptoms as when it went in August, I have questioned this and now he has come back and told me his mate has told him that you get the same problems if the gear box is going, the car is changing gear with no issues it just wobbles on acceleration and is fine when cruising.
