  Just had mine inspected by an local dealership who took measurements of paint thickness and pictures and has prepared a report for Audi. He didn't seem to optimistic of them accepting the claim, it would be helpful to know if this is a one off or a known problem. Thanks!

  The cam belt on this car has just failed, 10,000 mile before the recommended cam belt change every 80,000 miles. it has been serviced according to Audi's requriements (extended service intervals advised by car's computer) 3 weeks previously the alternator seized with the alternator belt snapping, could this have damaged or weakened the cam belt, and should the garage who replaced the alternator and alternator belt checked the cam belt for possible problems as a result?

  I've got an audi a3 2tdi and was wondering if some one can help me with it. Got a major problem with it. It suddenly started misfiring and jerking while I was on the motorway. Now its gone worse and loosing a lot of power.

  In the Recall Section he mentions that December 2005 - The "Dealer TSB to replace current 6 plate clutch of the 2.5 V6 TDI mulitronic with a 7 plate clutch" as their is a known problem with a failing due to torque stress. Not sure what Dealer TSB means ..... should I have received a recall notice from Audi????? Cheers Travelbuddy

  just a quick question. i changed the rear brake pads on my audi using the wind back tool, i done the o/s first, piston winds in right hand down. now go to the n/s using the left hand wind tool, piston wont wind in. should it wind in left hand down? because it wont , but it turns right hand down but just spins and wont go in. is the calliper siezed?

  Hello All, Want to fit a towbar to my 1999 Audi A6 Quattro Avant and would like a bit of advice on the electrics. I am considering buying a "car specific" 12N kit made by Westfalia and would like to know if they are really plug in and go (no splicing etc).

  Can anyone please help with front pad replacement on my 10yr old Audi A6? [Haynes can't - no manual yet]. Where one expects to find the two bolts to enable the caliper to be removed or swung away there are two apparently immovable plastic bungs the size of a large thimble.

  The main problem is very very limited access room either coming up from below or going in from the side via the grill aperture, (grill removed). I hope Audi thought about the eventuality of the cable failing and have a solution for opening the bonnet or somebody else can help with ideas. ....thanks Corsacar

  In all my time on the road , I can't recall seeing the BIB using an Audi, even the unmarked cars they seem to increasingly use. Do they have them in your area, is it they lack ability? Can't be down to cost as they all seem drive Mercs and Beemers round here. I expect one day to see the local CPSO driving around in a drop top Bentley.

  Hello All, Well, the old beast is proving to be a pain again, my offside cv joint needs replacing and I've got down to pop it off by screwing the bolt back into the the joint but good old Audi have made the drive shaft hollow so when I screw the bolt in it just goes into the shaft !!!! Has anyone been here before ?? if so what was the fix ?? Is there a special tool for this ?? any assistance would be most welcome cheers a very wet and peed off Benno

  I have a 98(s) Reg Audi A4 1.8 se. From cold the engine starts up fine but if its still warm when you start it up it can take up to 10 seconds to start.when it does eventually start it usually revs to high when idel around 2000 rpm instead of 800rpm.Also when you put your foot on the accelorator it drops the revs and almost cuts out .....this can last for a few minutes even when driving(buy building up the revs).....any ideas

  I have a '96 Audi A3. The other day i put the passanger electric window down, it never came back up. It will start moving up for a few inches, stop and go down again. I have a complete electric window from the scrap yard, with glass motor/regulator etc for £20.

  I have a Audi A6 quattro (1999) I had outer front CV boots replaced because they were split. When accelarating, I hear a knocking noise when I turn right only. Does this sound like the inner CV joint needs attention also (like greasing up) or replacing?

  Hi all Me again Another thing I have noticed especailly in third and fourth gear when crusing along gently at around 1500 rev the car shudders. Usually pressing the accltor pedal or knocking down a gear solves the problem. Ive had another Audi 80 TDi before and that was smooth when cruising. I was told redex diesel treatment may solve it...have used it but no differnce! Any suggestion at what it could be and approx repair costs??? Cheers All

  Hi, Have a problem with my Audi A3 1.9 tdi se 2000. A couple of times this week the spedo/rev counter and other dash instruments have not been working but after about 10 mins driving they have come on. Thursday driving to work they did not come on at all and when I came to go home car would not start(tries for a second then stops).

  A 1995 on an 'N'. Early model without a/c,alloys etc. It's done a genuine 84000 miles and has a fully documented Audi main dealer history. In silver - best colour? Couple of small dings on real wheel arches have scratched the paint. About £150 to repair. Interior immaculate, drives very well. a) what this worth - I reckon about £2600 b) What faults do the petrol turbo & A4 in general suffer from?

  I run a 1997 Audi A4 1.9 TDI.It starts first turn,runs brilliantly with plenty of poke and economy.However on starting from cold and driving a few miles as soon as the heater starts blowing warm air onto the windscreen a problem ensues.When going round a bend the windscreen gives sharp cracking noises.These noises sound almost like a stone hitting your screen at speed.Once the car is warm though all is quiet again.Has anyone any idea about the cause or a possible cure?

  Ok, not so interesting question for those with 1.8 t\'s But here goes: Have an Audi 80 with Keihinn 1 carb, which is a bit of a dog, seems exceptionally difficult to tune, and generally worn. Is it possible to fit a weber conversion to this car? I know a scirocco can take weber, is it poss to throw on a scirocco manifold with weber?
