SEAT Altea XL - Three child Seats. Which Car. 10 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I would like to buy a second hand Diesel car with low emissions. Maybe two or three years old. It's got to be reliable I don't want to be pumping money into it in two or three years time. Any recommendations would be most welcome. -
Peugeot 1.8 - Peugeot 7 Jan 2012 (Forum)
On behalf of a friend, so I don't know full details of the model, but her Peugeot is only a few years old and her car runs out of petrol very quickly. For example, she tops up her car to Half a Tank of petrol, but it runs down to the next level of the metre after just 3 miles. This results in her having to buy petrol much more often, which is expensive and is consuming more petrol than her car is meant to consume. -
Family car - Ford Focus estate or C-Max? 7 Jun 2011 (Forum)
Hi there, My other half and I are due to be having a baby in October and so we're looking at getting a "family car". I'm currently in the process of trying to sell my 07 Honda Civic 1.4 Auto (damn i-shift gearbox, why couldn't Honda have used the same CVT from the Jazz?!) which should leave me with enough money for a 2/3 year old car. -
planning on selling private 19 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Hi guys, in the next few weeks I hope to take delivery of my new car, and since the dealers were not interested in my p/x I am going to have to sell it private. So, just a few questions, can I get insurance on my new car as well as my old car whilst I sell it? I have e-mailed my insurance but they have not yet replied. -
Mazda Mazda 6 (2008 -) - Three cheers for Saga 5 Oct 2009 (Forum)
I wonder if the fact that the car that crashed into mine was overtaking a police car at the time had any bearing on their generousity. -
Model Cars 4 Mar 2009 (Forum)
These are so perfect that it would be an insult to call them dolls? houses. Anyway onto the motoring link. They would sometimes like to put a model car in the garage/on the drive. The standard scale for this hobby is 1/12 (1? to 1? in old money). Whilst there is a large choice in the various model railway scales and the popular 1/43 and 1/18 scales they have been able to find very little in 1/12 ? -
Hyundai i10 (2008 - ) - Hyundai i110 vs Kia Picanto 30 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Are these ostensibly the same car and if so which is the better car? I am thinking about getting another small run around and want it to be economical, cheap to run and tax efficient. I also want it to have a certain amount of poke that small cars used to have ie feel quick even if they weren't i.e like small FIats of old. -
Bought a car with no docs & "classic" ins advice 12 Mar 2008 (Forum)
bought a car off a decent chap exactly 2 months ago. He promised to mail through the docs to DVLA several times , but hasn't done so . He won't answer his phone to me . He's in Durham, I'm in London . The car has had to be off road on a mate's drive , but I now need to run it . -
Khan cleared of dangerous driving 8 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Perhaps I do not understand what a high performance car is. The BMW site states:- base model 530i 6.2 secs and the 650i 5.2 secs for 0-62. Perhaps he had an old base model ? -
AWD Estate Car 4 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I originally suggested the Audi Quattro range but they were not keen. Am I missing anything out or does anyone have any suggestions? Would a rear wheel drive car with a decent traction control system do the trick? Current vehicles are quite old and therefore probably not up to date in this sense. Thanks -
VW Coils AGAIN 7 Mar 2007 (Forum)
VW have said they will pay even though the car is out of warranty but he is now inconvenienced without a car for 2 weeks. Thankfully he has my trusty old Corolla to rely on !!!!! -
Mitsubishi Colt Blue 10 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Simple enough thread here. I am short of opinion where it comes to cars. I have a budget of around £7000 for a car. I'm looking for pre-reg cars or used up to a year old and a 56 plate Mitsubishi Colt Blue is going for £7200 with delivery miles. The new Colts seem to be getting pretty good write ups on the internet and the price of 7.2k seems great compared to the list price of 8.5k. -

Quietest - Primera, Mondeo or Passat? 30 Sep 2005 (Forum)
I have the opportunity to buy a cheap 1 year old fleet car at a good price and have tempted me for a change and pass my QX to my girlfriend. My question is, where would I be able to find the noise (in decibel) of a car make at 70mph? This car will be a work car (around 20k p.a.) so low cruising NVH, good handling and safety is key. -
Vauxhall Astra brakes sticking 27 Sep 2005 (Forum)
I've removed the drum and all looks ok and have loostened the handbrake cable a bit but when I started the car the brake had seized again. Any ideas - I'm unwilling to pay much for a repair as the car is so old. -

I was quite happy with the old car's performance, something similar would be fine. I am not too image-concious. -
insurance on other cars 17 Aug 2004 (Forum)
while i understand this policy varies form different insurance companies; what is the general conditions on the rule? i will be borrowing a friends old volvo estate to move furniture, while im not to concerned with the cost of replacing his car if an accident occurs (its worth tops £400) I dont want to run the risk of having no insurance. also - if i was to own his volvo (a real future possibility) - would i still be able to use my main cars insurance policy to cover use of the volvo? -
New car - how to keep that way? 22 Nov 2003 (Forum)
Aside from the regular oil changes what tips do you have so I can try and keep the car looking as it does now? The only thing I have at the moment is an old bottle of "Mer" polish. Geeze, I don't even know where it came from! Any help appreciated... Nick
