Driving to work this morning along the A14 in my newly inherited Citroen AX. 70mph, outside lane, about to overtake a truck, everything under control - BANG! • PSA 1.5diesel DV5 10 Jul 2024 (Forum)
After a chat with a mechanic friend of mine who looks after a fleet of Citroen/Peugeot\Vauxhall vans fitted with the DV5 diesel engine, he was saying he's seen a lot with timing chain problems with the 7mm chain needing to be changed to the 8mm one after an issue with chain stretching or worn followers.
  • Nissan Juke versus Toyota Aygo 18 Dec 2023 (Forum)
Hi.  It's time now to update my 16 yo Citroen C1.  I've fallen in love with both the cars above (subject box).  However, which is the cheapest to run?  Are the wheels on the Juke pricier than the wheels on the Aygo, for example, if I ever needed to replace them.
  • New Car - Suzuki Ignis 1 Jul 2022 (Forum)
I just read about the Suzuki Ignis and it seems to be a great little car that is also fun to drive. Any thoughts? A friend also recommended the Citroen C3 but the former looks like more fun.

  • How long does it take to sell a used car? 1 Jul 2018 (Forum)
The village garage had a Fiat Qubo for about 3 months but I think that was an aberration. Also seen a C3 Picasso re-appear at local Citroen franchise in very short order. I'd looked at it on first outing but rules it out after literature and salesman lied that it was an 8 valve diesel and not the failure prone 16valve. I wonder if someone else was taken in for longer....

  • C4 Grand Picasso - Advice 15 Dec 2012 (Forum)
I am after a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso, and have a budget of about £7500. It's going to do about 10,000 miles a year, mainly on short journeys and so reading about DPF's and other scary diesel problems, I'm heading over towards a 1.6 petrol engine.
  • FIAT Qubo - Thoughts on a Fiat Qubo 6 May 2012 (Forum)
Hi, we have sold the 2nd car (Citroen Berlingo), have test driven a fiat doblo, seat altea, skoda roomster and fiat qubo. Our car of preference is the Qubo for its practically yet smaller dimensions than the Doblo for getting around central Birmingham.

  • Peugeot 405 Petrol (1988 - 1996) - 1991 1.9 Rear suspension spheres 20 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Hi all I think it's time to change the rear suspension spheres on my Mi16 x4 as the suspension is getting pretty hard. The hydraulic pump is working ok so I know its not that. I'm assuming the job is similar to the Citroen BX sphere change so can anyone tell me where the best place is to get the spheres and possibly give me a rough guide on how to change them please? Regards J

  • Off on hols 25 May 2007 (Forum)
Right then , Friday we're off driving down the to the Languedoc from Calais via a nice Chateau near Orleans, but the difference is this time we are hiring a 9 seater minivan rather than going in two cars. Anyone any tips this year on the state of l'autoroutes and does anyone know if a Citroen Jumper or Mercedes Vito is charged higher on the tolls than a standard car so we can budget accordingly? Already disabled the french camera bits on the TomTom and the vehicle is a LHD (pick up at Calais Ferryport) - we are crossing as foot passengers this time.

  • Brake pad change on Synergie simple? 15 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Just wondering if it's worth trying to do my 2000 1.9HDi Citroen Synergie's brake pads myself - has anyone got any experience in doing this job themselves? Or am I just tight. It's just hit 98,500 miles and I felt a distinct rubbing under heavy braking, braking has been poor of late, and I think may be almost down to the metal.
