  • Nissan spares - Price surprise 20 Mar 2002 (Forum)
This is a turn up for the books. Bought an oil and fuel filter for a Nissan from the main dealer, and both were cheaper than Halfords own (quality?) brand.

  • 00 Citroen Xsara Speedo and rev counter 10 Apr 2025 (Forum)
My Wife's car 'Citroen Xsara 1400 Forte Regeration 2000' has just been serviced and broke down this evening as the fuel filter clip had not been done up properly. Green Flag got it going and I think needed to use the starter a lot to get the fuel going again. Here is the problem. The the Rev counter and Speeometer have some how spun round and are now resting the opoisite side of the speedo stop.
  • Astra 1.7DTI Kangaroo juice! 18 Dec 2020 (Forum)
The fault seems to be more apparent in cold weather. I use shell diesel but have also used BP Ultimate and ussually use millers diesel plus. The fuel filter has been replaced and there has never been any water visible in the fuel filter housing when replacing the filter. The Car has done 125 000 miles the engine had a replacement Cylinder Head at 117 000 miles.
  • Jazz 63 plate EX 1.4 - Honda Jazz servicing 29 Nov 2020 (Forum)
Local Honda dealer could not be bothered to return my call, went  to book with a dealer 8 miles away in Surrey/London border that price matched at £215...shows how much profit margin is built in.  My question should we get fuel filter and coolant properly drained which are all extras.  Honda want £90 for coolant and  between £90 to £160 for fuel filter depending on external or internal.  Should I get coolant changed?
  • All fuels - Car fire in Liverpool multi story car park 5 Jan 2018 (Forum)

  • Vauxhall astra diesel astrolife A/CCDTI 2010 - slow stuttering after having new EGR fitted 25 Jan 2017 (Forum)
Our car was losing power so we had new EGR fitted, when it was collected from the garage when accelerating it was almost as if the car would pause and then move forward again repeatedly,we discovered it had a hole in the fuel tank and tank was virtually empty. So we had a new fuel tank fitted but the car is still doing the pausing then moving forward action when accelerating, the garage doesn't know what it is so we took it to a diesel specialist and all tests show everything is working fine, Has anyone else had this and if so what was it and how do we stop it happening.
  • Ford Fiesta - 2009 1.6 diesel timing issues 26 Jul 2016 (Forum)
Hi i have just had my timing belt fitted by a mechanic in june 2016 on a diesel 2009 1.6TDCI fiesta. This was done at less than 84,000  Since then the fuel seems to not last as long, although it has been a while since i filled it full to the brim. Due to usage and costs i've been running it on supermarket diesel and generally filling up from empty (fuel light on less than 50 miles) to half a tank.
  • Peugeot 307 2.0 petrol 2002 - Catalytic Convertor fault / anti pollution fault 15 Feb 2016 (Forum)
I have a peugeot 307 and the engine management light is flashing with the screen going crazy showing cataylic convertor fault and anti pollution fault. The car also misfires really badly too! We have tried better fuel as i have seen people mention but that hasnt worked...changed spark plugs and coil pack but these have also made no difference. Few people has suggested perhaps changing the oxygen sensor, fuel injectors and even all of the tappetts??
  • Vauxhall Corsa C - Corsa C starting issue 1 Feb 2016 (Forum)
When warm it wont restart. The left hand lights on the dash (eml, seatbelt) won't light at all and the fuel pump doesn't prime. Also the wipers wont work. Everything else still functions. It turns over. It will only start when the lights come back on then the fuel pump starts. Usual takes a few minutes. 3 times it has actually died whilst driving.

  • Renault master - Renault master glow plug light stays on 29 Apr 2014 (Forum)
My garage says it now has to go to the dealer to be diagnosed and this worries me as they took so long to diagnose and repair the last time. Is it possible that this problem is still related to the leaky fuel line ? Any other suggestions that Gould help avoid yet another massive bill from the dealer? Any help gratefully received.
  • Citroen C Crosser 4x4 2,2 Diesel - Car Hesitating on reapplication of throttle 8 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Have had 1.5 tanks of diesel since the misfuel incident.   I have had the fuel filter replaced (Genuin Citroen) but no change in symptoms.  Local garage can't find any fault codes and could not replicate - however it does it regularly for me albe it less often on some routes than others.
  • 2006 Citroen BERLINGO 1.6D enterprise - Engine power loss with a warm engine...... 11 Jan 2013 (Forum)
When the engine has been running for approx 15mins we have a very annoying fault that is getting worse, we loose power in the engine once warm.  We have changed the air filter, fuel pump, fuel additive to clean.  When put on the computer nothing seems to come up although the garage has now decided that there is an electrical fault and disconnected the 'Muff'.  This has all been very expensive and we are now concerned that something in the engine has been unplugged, surely we need it.
  • peugeot 205 gti 1.6 1986 - rough running 30 Aug 2012 (Forum)
Then, usually, flooring it cures the problem, but lifting off and reapplying the gas again can cause a backfire. Spark plugs look OK, fuel filter recently changed, fuel pump is a bit noisy but seems fine. A light spray of WD40 over the electrics sometimes improves things. Could it just be needing a new distributor cap, or something more serious?

  • Ford Focus Estate - ENDURA PUMP PROBLEM? 2 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Ive done all the stuff, cashaft slot correct, pin in the pump and pin in for crank but no matter what she refuses to run, there is fuel at the injectors by the tanker load but she will only run on the naughty gas. Im beginning to think maybe there is a "coding" problem but if the immobiliser was not seeing the Bosch pump surely there would be no fuel up to the injectors???
  • most economic older 7 seater 1 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I now cannot afford to run my grand voyager due to the high cost of fuel. As a childminder I have toyed with the idea of getting a convertible and fitting a multimac rear seat, however I am now wondering if I would be better buying an older 7 seater for the same price as the multimac (approx.
