  I'm in the market for an manual/auto S-Max, well aware there are no guarantees over reliability a £4,000 maximum budget. That's all there is in the kitty and I won't be borrowing any more to extend the budget. Mileage annually no more than 10,000 putting me preferably in the petrol camp, these are unfortunately thin on the ground.

  My 55 Zetec s TDCI randomly cuts out when turning left in hot weather. The panel says its a steering fault, refer to owners manual but after two minutes or so it starts again and off I go.! Did it twice today, ten minutes apart after an hour's driving.

  Hello there everyone...  :) I'm going to be selling my Mini Cooper S convertible soon, to be replaced with a Fiat 500, mostly because the day-to-day running costs of the Mini are proving to be a lot. I'm not keen on selling my car privately, although I know I would probably get a better price for it.

  2003 mini cooper s. engine bonnet wont open. i can release catch inside car ok but after i release safety catch under bonnet only the nearside of bonnet opens. latch on drivers side stays firmly locked/jammed. has anyone else experienced this problem and if so i would greatly welcome any advice on how to solve/open my bonnet. thanks Max

  i replaced inner and outer cv joints on n/s after a knocking appeared.  car was ok for 3 weeks and then knocking came back.  it was so bad i had to be recovered.  i removed the driveshalf and could not see anything wrong.  put car back together and ok for around 3 weeks and knocking has come back.

  I now live in France and need to re-register my RHD S class and have it comply to French specification. There is no information to show that the existing lights can be adjusted so I have been quoted £540 for new lights or £106 for new lenses but MB Technical Department, UK, will not commit that just changing the lenses would be sufficient.
• Ford Fiesta (2000 - 2002) - 01 1.8 O/S drive shaft bearing 29 Aug 2009 (Forum)
  Got a 51 reg courier van (fiesta) with a rumble on the O/S drivers side drive shaft,it's the bearing that's bolted to the engine. Can I repalce the bearing or do I have to replace the entire shaft?? I'm driving the van over to the south of Spain and this is very annoying as it's causing bad wheel wobble and vibration.

  Dear All, I am going on a short trip on a P&O liner from S/hampton in September and thought, despite some advice to the contrary, to leave the car at the docks, F.O.C. I presume that one leaves the keys. Do cars get moved around by the staff? That in itself does not unduly bother me, but the old Merc' has got what can only be described as an alarm system with half a mind of it's own and I don't want to return to a flat battery with all the attendant problems.

  I have an automatic BMW 318i S coupe that judders when moving off, tricky if i need to move quickly at junctions/roundabouts. It only happens when it tries to find 1st/2nd but has no probs changing gear at higher speeds. It does occasionally slip out of gear, mostly on longer journeys or slow traffic.

  I recently bought an S Type - and I'm very happy. One of the keys had a flat battery, so I replaced it according to the instructions in the handbook, making sure I only spent a few seconds. The previous battery must have been flat as a pancake, as it now has no coding.

  Hi there, I'm currently leasing an 05 Touran S 1.9 Diesel (7 seater) and I have an option to buy it very shortly. The car has done 15000 miles. The price they have offered me is just over £11,000. Does this sound reasonable? I am told that the figure is about "book price", but I do not know which book!

  I've been trying to fix a friends fiesta 1.6 zetec s (the one with all the skirts and alloys etc). It is overheating after about 25 miles and the fan comes on when the car is travelling along. I am thinking that it is the thermostat, is there anything else it could be?

  Very soon after its MOT, it has started making a single clunking noise seemingly beneath the driver\'s side footwell when accelerating from a stop. It\'s definitely when applying max torque i.e. in first gear (even when pulling away gently). I know cars can clunk when CV\'s are shot, but the steering is not a factor.
