Seat Altea XL - first impressions 21 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Also, unlike the Scenic, there is the middle hump that runs through the floor making things less comfy for a middle passenger. Storage is limited to 2 pull down flaps under the front seats (not drawers) and the centre armrest which has a split level in it, pens etc on top and then a couple of CDs in the bottom bit. There are no underfloor or underseat cubbies in the back like the Scenic does. -
Jeep Wrangler - Refusal of refund on a faulty car 28 Sep 2015 (Forum)
They then drove and fixed the car without our permission and attempted to force us to pick the car up by charging us £30 a day storage. The police were contacted who notified them they were acting outside the law but they continued on with the same threat. They refused to tell us what work had been done on the car or who did the work. -

2. spring of the left hand side of storage cover / roller blind is broken, so when it is applied there is no tension on the left hand side, but looks like too much tension on the right hand side. 3. in the advert they put on autotraders, it said 35000 miles on the clock. but when the vehicle arrived it has got 36118 miles instead. -

One wheel on my wagon. -
Any used car - "Sibra" Nanocarbon lubricant 17 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Lubricant: does not contain metal particles does not form precipitation during storage, does not contribute to chemical or electrochemical corrosion, not delayed in filters. It has a high welding force (the value depends on the concentration of nanoparticles)It is recommended to use in the internal combustion engine, transmission, (except automatic), gearboxes. How to use: pour in the oil in the ratio of 1: 100 (for 1l of oil 10 ml of suspension)Note: oil when pouring should produce no more than 30% of its resource. -
1.9TD C20 VW Caddy van - Insurance write-off pickle 12 Nov 2015 (Forum)
The insurance company claims that it could have sold the vehicle on for £1,000 rather than the £500 I received. But I have paid for all recovery and storage costs thus saving the insurance company a significant amount. Surely a settlement nearer to £3,000 is more appropriate? Does the insurance company have an obligation to have the van listed as Cat C? -
Which car to choose....... 12 Dec 2009 (Forum)
s handling dull and on the soft side (used to have a 1996 Fiesta) so Panda may be better from that point of view, and it puts a big smile on your face just looking at it never mind driving it, but it just lacks cruise control and the centre console looks like an upended brick and lacks storage cubbies....but would that really matter if it was effectively a go-cart with a shell on it?....Do go-carts make good dual-carriageway commuters? Is dull handling much fun on back roads? Then there? -
It's a rattling good car, anyway 14 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Jo-Anne politely asks me to stop for a moment. I do. She says do I mind if she opens the center console storage box. Well I suppose so but the rattle isn't coming from there. It's you people who made it worse. Sir, may I? She wants to remove 3 cassette tapes and a bottle of cologne. Yes I suppose so. Sir (sweetly), may we just try the car again to see if the rattle is still there? -
Honda Civic 1.0 SR - First impressions 9 May 2019 (Forum)
There is a cubby in the central binnacle thing that temporarily lost my house keys as they fell through the tiny lip at the back into an awkward little tray beneath. The armrest/storage has an ugly open section at the front that you cant close off. The feature lines of the dashboard bear little relation to the feature lines on the door. They appear as if they are from different cars. -
SEAT Alhambra - sunroof exploded 23 Nov 2018 (Forum)
Motability attempted to replace my vehicle but these were unsuitable for my needs. I had no storage facility for my wheelchair and I was without transportation for weeks because of this and unable to do any meaningful activities which further exacerbated my mental health conditions. We were due to go on holiday to France a few weeks after this incident. -
Landrover freelander - total loss non fault accident 19 Sep 2012 (Forum)
So all in all I've had £1150 for a freelander which I paid much more for spent a lot to get all brakes replaced, head gasket, it had 12 months MOT my stereo worth £200 mats worth £70 etc all of which were gone and crushed before I even knew the car had gone from the storage yard where it was initially held. My understanding was I was to be put in the position I was in before the accident, which as you can tell hasn't happened. It's now approaching 9 months later and I have opened a personal injury claim owing to my broken bones, loss of earnings etc which has been running since February and the third party insurer has thus far refused to acknowledge this. -
Seat Leon 1.4 TSI - First 10 weeks. 18 Oct 2015 (Forum)
Comfort wise its superb, the ride is way better than the 1 series, its quiet and there is much better internal space. In terms of finish I have no complaints but a couple of reviewers moaned about the quality of a storage flap lid!!!. No rattles so far. On the equipment front it has everything the BMW had and more. Hitting the options list was tempting (as always) but there was nothing that was going to improve my driving experience. -
Things we didn't ask for on cars 22 Sep 2009 (Forum)
The beloved ECU.....can it run windows 7, or Vista, does it have a full colour 18 inch display, or 300 gigabytes of storage and 4gb of onboard ram. Does it have multiprocessing ability, can it play music, does it replace your stereo, or MP3 player, can it play DVDs in the car. NO! So why do they cost £400-700 or more to replace, it's a ridiculous price when you think about it? -
Toyota RAV4 - Toyota RAV4 - Dodgy MOT/Ripped Off? 18 Jul 2023 (Forum)
It had just passed it's MOT after having one advisory "Underbody Covered In Underseal" We then used the car for 5 months doing some road trips around the country to see family and friends and then the car was put in a garage for the past 6/7 months. We got it out of storage and it developed a little rattle prettry quickly, had a feeling it was the bushings so we decided to take it in for an MOT which came back with: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 99,200 miles: Repair immediately (major defects): Nearside Inner Integral body structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced sill excessively corroded multiple patches (6.1.1 (c) (i)) Offside Integral body structure corroded to the extent that the rigidity of the assembly is significantly reduced sill excessively corroded multiple patches (6.1.1 (c) (i)) Nearside Rear Inner Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Offside Rear Inner Suspension component mounting prescribed area excessively corroded significantly reducing structural strength (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Nearside Front Shock absorbers has a serious fluid leak (5.3.2 (b)) Nearside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn Rear bush debonding from arm (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Offside Front Lower Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn Rear bush debonding from arm (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Offside Front Outer Drive shaft joint constant velocity boot split or insecure, no longer prevents the ingress of dirt (6.1.7 (g) (ii)) Repair as soon as possible (minor defects): Offside Rear Registration plate lamp inoperative in the case of multiple lamps or light sources (4.7.1 (b) (i)) Monitor and repair if necessary (advisories): Front Inner Play in steering rack inner joint(s) Sub-frame corroded but not seriously weakened Front and rear (5.3.3 (b) (i)) Nearside Rear Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i)) Offside Rear Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i)) Nearside Front Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i)) Offside Front Coil spring corroded (5.3.1 (b) (i)) Rear Suspension component corroded but not seriously weakened All suspension arms/shocks (5.3.3 (b) (i)) Offside Rear Anti-roll bar linkage pin or bush worn but not resulting in excessive movement (5.3.4 (a) (i)) Offside Rear Inner Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrule (1.1.12 (f) (i)) Nearside Rear Inner Brake hose has slight corrosion to ferrule (1.1.12 (f) (i)) Vehicle structure is corroded but structural rigidity is not significantly reduced (6.1.1 (c) (i)) Nearside Front Inner Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Offside Front Inner Suspension component mounting prescribed area is corroded but not considered excessive (5.3.6 (a) (i)) Offside Front Shock absorbers has light misting of oil (5.3.2 (b)) ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The guy that did the MOT said it's scrap and it's going to cost way more than it's worth to fix it. -
Car Supermarkets, £8k Midlands 4 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Despite having a 1.6 engine, and being a facelift model, it was over £1000 cheaper than the Clio of the same age - and it's difficult to argue with something like that when it was a bigger and more comfortable car - loads of storage solutions and the only one with an armrest to calm your (my) driving style. Sadly, the flat battery coupled with the Megane rep for unreliability meant I walked away since the salesman showed little interest in actually getting it started for me to check the other electrics (radio, mirrors, wipers etc). -
More on Hydrogen. 17 Jan 2002 (Forum)
The hydrogen is extracted from the liquid to power the fuel cell, and the resulting liquid is stored in a second storage tank. Refuelling the car then involves pumping out the used liquid, and refuelling with fresh sodium borohydride. Even when a sensible way to deliver and store hydrogen has been found, however, fuel cells are no silver bullet when it comes to eliminating pollution. -
Audi Allroad TDi test drive 28 Apr 2004 (Forum)
A quick look around the rear revealed a truly capacious load space, with easily accessible tie-downs and a couple of cubby holes for storage of smaller, more fragile items. Or at least there would have been if they weren?t already in use to store the CD changer and the Bose amplifier. A full-size alloy spare is provided, but the tyre is a vredstein collapsible, complete with compressor. -
Review of 3 Scenics 8 Sep 2004 (Forum)
However, the new model has a huge glove box, which is also cooled when the air con is on. Regarding storage, as usual there are plenty of cubbyholes. However, now there are also 2 floor-mounted cubbies for driver and passenger. A nice touch is the door ?puddle light? comes on when you open these cubbies. -
Mike Rutherfords Champions 7 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Frankly, I'm staggered that the company's first proper, mid-engined supercar is as good as it is. In a few departments (non-manual transmissions, price, storage space) it's worse than a 911. In others (sheer driving pleasure, build quality, desirability) it's equal to the rival Porsche. And in plenty of other categories (power, top speed, looks, noise, street cred and more) it's better.
