  The central locking, ignition lights, indicators etc may or may light, starter motor clicks and will not turn. Jump start works every time and give it a 10-15 minute drive, battery is as good as new (providing you do not do any of the above!). Before I go and splash out on a new battery, is this just likely to be a battery at the end of its life or something more technical / sinister?

  Had a slow drain on the battery for some time, but over early part of year (car not used very frequently) the battery (new) went totally flat, when I tried to charge with battery connected the charger overloaded and tripped out - pulling way too much power.

  Hi all, Just got back from a long working holiday(3 months), on my return the battery on my car was dead so I re-charged it, having done this the battery lasted a few hours and died, I thought the battery was dodgy as it is over 3 years old so I bought a new one, but the new battery did exactly the same and drained overnight.

  Hi forum, Can you help me to find most optimal 12V battery for Tuscon NX4 1.6 T-GDI MHEV. It looks like mine is nearing its end of life and start/stop not often engages. My previous fiesta was running just fine with the cheapest battery, but some advice on future battery would be very much appreciated, given that it's start/stop system + 48V MHEV vehicle.

  My Volvo 940 TDic is 13 years old it has its original battery. Twice in the past couple of weeks I have been asked to give jump starts to much younger cars. Are modern batteries made to a lower standard? Having looked at the one in my new Outback it does look a bit insubstantial but then it's a petrol engine.

  Can anyone recommend a reliable source for a replacement HP laptop battery? Plenty available on eBay and Amazon but I'm concerned about the quality. Several years ago I purchased a battery on eBay for a t***iba laptop and it only lasted a year. Apart from the longevity aspect there's also the worry of it going pop whilst charging.

  New altinator and new battery yet car keeps draining battery. Its parked up about a quater mile from my house since the engine died, all the dash lights dimmed and then just stalle tryed to re-start but the battery is completley drained im going to get it tommorow ( jump start ) anyone know what could be causing this?

  after standing in the snow for 3 days - flat battery. Due to the age of battery fitted a new one. Did a good 200 mile journey - car stood another 4 days - flat battery. this is a diesel car and have read somewhere there is a fuel heater - could this be the reason.

  The battery had gone flat in a Rover 400 and has been stood for 6 weeks. A new fully charged battery was installed but it fails to fire up. It appears by the small LED in the middle of the dash display that the immobiliser has kicked in.

  Bought a Honda scooter back end of Summer,will not be using it in the winter and need to keep the battery charged,the battery is 12V but only 5Ah capacity,am afraid to use my normal charger which says its suitable for 36to75Ah batteries,have found a Draper Batt.Master on the web looks like a phone charger in the picture and says its designed to maintain batt.on laid up vehicles,any one out there have any experience or suggestions please.

  I am now charging the battery, and will leave it charging overnight. What are the odds on the battery being knackered. Does allowing a car battey to drain 'FULLY' do it good instead of bad? AdyBee...

  I know there has been discussion here in the past about the charging of little used car batteries using trickle chargers that are designed to be connected to the battery for long periods without disconnecting the vehicle's positive and negative leads. Does anyone have experience of the Draper Battery Master?

  i have a omega v6 94. a strange thing has happend twice in 10 days. in the morning the car starts first time every time. drive to work 13 mile stop the car then 10 mins later go to start it but the battery has gone flat. jump start it and its fine. then today it did it again. when you put your hand on top of the battery its very warm and the battery terminals are very hot...... please help if you can

  The battery never goes flat and the car is always easy to start. The battery terminals/connection looked undamaged. Is this something as simple as dirty battery terminals, or something more? Thanks

  Was unexpectedly totally flat today, no power at all. I have not experienced any recent problems. Battery is 5 years old, reads only 3V on a multimeter. Is this battery worth trickle charging or jump starting?
