    I read in the past somewhere, you can check ECU fault Codes on a plug by shorting 2 pins. I had a look for a plug that might be it, but can't find it. Anyone know where this plug is, how I check the fault codes and tell what they mean ?

  I remembered that this was what happened when my gearbox had to be replaced 2 years 3 months earlier. I am now told by the dealership that the gearbox ECU is faulty and needs replacing. It seems to me that the dealership damaged the ECU when they did the gearbox oil change. I have no idea how I can prove if this is the case or not. Any advice please.

  Hi, I had the ECU on my citroen fail a couple of weeks ago.  The garage I took it to did a repair on it which they told me it was a semi-to-permament repair.  I didn't want to fit a new one (at at cost of £1,000).

  At the moment i'm not having much luck trying to locate a second hand ecu unit no 0281 010 779 bosch plus bsi unit &key chip i sent the ecu away for checking (repair) got reply back can not be repaired.   Can anyone out there please offer an alternative source for the circuit diagram of an ECU manufactured by Mitsubishi in the early to mid 90's? The PCB is in an ECU which controls a magnetic clutch ( which is also a Mitsubishi product ) on a Fiat car from 1993. Needless to say, Fiat have been of no help at all and Mitsubishi UK have ( so far ) failed to respond to any email contact.

  Does anyone know what happens to the Mileage if you change the Speedo in a Mk4 Mondeo? Is the Mileage stored in the ECU? if it is can the display on the speedo be changed so it displays the correct mileage? I've seen a similar thread about MK3 Mondeos but I need to know for a MK4. Thanks

  Hopefully an easy question. Does anyone know if when refilling your regeneration fluid you need to go to rest the ECU? A garage told me YES, a regen fluid online shop told me NO!?! Can the car reset itself or by disconnecting the battey for so long.... The car is a 307HDi 110bhp 2003 Thanks

   mk1 ford focus 2 litre changed ecu with key but wont start. got car with no keys ,ecu i got is the same part numbers as the old one and comes with the right fob to the ecu ,the key fob opens the car and closes it no probs but will not turn over any one got ideas please  asap.

  i have a motor that will not run i have had the ecu tested, i have also tried a control relay and a crank sensor all to no avail!!!! i am getting a single injector pulse when i first crank the engine but thats it. plaease help i can't take much more

  Can anyone please advise if any of the ECUs fitted to the later Fiat Pandas were of the self learning type ? These are Magneti Marelli IAW 6FSH and 6FSK. I had always been under the impression that later cars, such as the Cinquecento and possibly the Mk1 Puntos had self learning types but that the Pandas did not.

  I know I need a new left side stalk and maybe some loom mods., but Lance Owen are telling me I need a new ECU at £500 ex-VAT. As there is only one model ECU for this car range I am puzzled why a new one is necessary. Can't an existing ECU be re-programmed?

    The first time this happened I had to get the van recovered to my local garage who diagnosed the following two fault codes from the ASM ECU: U1900 CAN Communication Bus Fault P0560 System Voltage Malfunction The garage has investigated these faults and cannot find any problems, they cleared the fault codes from the ECU and the vehicle drove normally, however after standing for a couple of days, the problem recurred, this has now happened three times.

  The car was booked in again for a glow plug relay replacement. That still did not solve the problem. The garage are now telling me that it maybe a ECU problem with an estimated cost of £700 to £1,000 to replace the ECU! I'm not technical so I'm a little naive as to what to do.   The cambelt snapped leaving 4 inlet valves bent,my local garage replaced all the neccessary parts and engine runs ok however the idle speed has gone bonkers,running at 1800rpm then dropping to 500rpm sometimes stalling.My garage tells me that the ECU has to re learn and my idle should return to normal in a few days.Is this correct? for a car of this age to have "learning ability" Many thanks,
