  • Honda Accord Tourer (2003 - 2008) - iCTDI a Long term review 7 Oct 2007 (Forum)
The front speakers buzz, something the dealer has refused to sort, and there is the merest hint of a rattle from door trim, but overall it doesn't feel like a 46k car. So, the main dealer is useless, the paint is thin and it has a drink problem. Otherwise it is pretty brilliant. G s
  • Good Customer Service 30 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Washed and leathered the Civic over last night - hosepipe ban meant I used 1.5 buckets of water which was used on the garden after I finished. I noticed that the holding clip on the passenger wiper was broken so the blade was loose. Came out this morning and reversing off the drive decided to try the wipers just to make sure passenger side was not going to break loose .
  • Skoda Superb (2002 - 2008 ) - Misuse of vehicle recalls. 6 Nov 2007 (Forum)
My VAG vehicle (Skoda) is just over 3 years old and hence out of warranty. I was telephoned by the local dealer who suggested that I might like to book the car in for a service and an MOT. The car is on variable servicing (but has since been serviced by me) and I have an excellent independently run MOT garage nearby - so no thanks.
  • BMW 5 Series F10 - BMW purchased with Recall notice 5 Mar 2019 (Forum)
I am extremely disappointed for buying a car, and I have not been able to use the car. And I would like to know if I have any recourse with regards to the price / value of the car against the dealer? To have the sales price reduced. As the car has not been fit for purpose.

  • Peugeot 206 CC - Problem with new drive shaft (or not) 11 Jun 2023 (Forum)
I was thinking about taking that metal clip out to stretch it further, and then apply new clip. However, I'm hesitant as that might void the warranty. I just don't like to sit and wait until something happens. What do you guys think ?
  • ford focus 1.6 petrol auto 2011 - battery problem 20 Sep 2021 (Forum)
Self and wife help in caring for neighbour. Her car, serviced to date, has developed a fault which drains battery completely in a few seconds. Main ford dealer services always but now closed locally. Battery replaced with Halfords who changed it after a few months as thought it had "failed" and replaced on warranty.
  • 2014 Focus 1.6 Ecoboost recall 31 Jul 2018 (Forum)
We've just been informed by our dealer ( car was in for a warranty clutch assembly replacement ) that our Focus 1.6 Ecoboost is being recalled cue to a problem with cooling/coolant levels that could cause the head to crack. Just posting as a heads up for anyone who has one that hasn't heard.

  • Citroen C5 (2001 - 2008) - 06 2.0HDi 138hp - clutch slipping? 15 May 2010 (Forum)
    I'd like to be armed with some advice before it goes in for its service - I've asked them to check this - in case it's something that can be fixed under warranty. Thanks! {various repeated stuff in subject header that gets picked up and displayed when you make your choice from the drop down menus deleted}
  • Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 06 1.9CDTi automatic gearbox - jerky changes. 13 Feb 2008 (Forum)
All of this work was done under warranty with guidance from Vauxhall technical support and included about 180 miles of testing. Having got the car back I am not convinced that the problem is fixed, except that it may now happen and slow speeds, e.g. in a slow moving queue, or when accelerating from slow speed, e.g after a roundabout.
  • The good service thread - Vol 1 17 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I'll start: --- I had a credit note for £200 from my local Ford dealer going back about 18 months that applied to a repair that they had initially charged for though subsequently realised was covered by a TSB and therefore should have been done under warranty, I had previously redeemed £100 of this and had £100 still to use. Also at the time I booked the last scheduled service - which cost little more than £100 - they had an offer of one year?s free AA roadside assistance.
  • *** HELP Merc C320 (2002) Wipers *** 1 Mar 2006 (Forum)
My wipers stopped working all of a sudden. When I try to use them, i can hear the motor at work, but the wipers won't budge. Mercedes Benz inspected my car and gave me an estimate of £450 (£120 for the motor and the rest is labour; full of duress). Many forums suggest that the wipers may have simply snapped off the motor.

  • Citroen C3 (2002 - 2009) - 03 1.1 Hazzard lights and speedo failing 17 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Hi can you guys help? My son bought his 1st car just over 2 weeks ago (from a small local dealership) that has a 30 day warranty and we are getting problems with it. The hazzard lights come on from time to time and the speedo dies (stays at 0) too.
  • Golf brake failure 3 20 Mar 2002 (Forum)
The service manager said this was quite common in cars that had lost all fluid, the lack of fluid apparently allows the seals in the master cylinder to turn and you can't get any brake pressure. Everything except recovery paid for by VW. Goodness knows how much this excercise would have cost a private motorist with a car out of warranty.
  • Why is my Peugeot 207 GT losing power? 11 Aug 2010 (Ask HJ)

  • Towing - common fail D or petrol v costs 19 Jun 2007 (Forum)
OK, I know the obvious answer is a Diesel, but how many of us can afford to keep on buying new and ensure we get rid of the thing before the warranty expires, because that is the most cost effective, hassle-free way I can think of of driving a diesel as I do.
  • Is Honda liable for structural damage to my 2010 Civic? 27 Apr 2013 (Ask HJ)
I have 2010 Honda Civic. I took it for its first MoT and the garage asked me to come and look at the car. It would not pass because the spot welds over...
  • Skoda Karoq - Possible Purchase 30 Jun 2021 (Forum)
I I don't intend on keeping the car for very long outside it's warranty so might not be much to worry about I was looking at the VW Tiquan, however the Skoda appears to come fully loaded, for a similar price, of a not so fully loaded Tiquan. and they are essentially the same car.
