  'P' Reg Renault Laguna (2ltr Automatic) - Leaving work in heavy rain, switched on lights, fan and radio, central locking working fine, wipers, internal and external lights all fine... after about a hundred yards the fuel gauge dropped to 'nil' even though I have about half a tank on board. I checked the fuse panel and cant see a fuse that refers to the fuel gauge.

  Hi all. I am having a problem with my Honda FRV 1.7SE. If I park up and turn off the engine I cannot use radio/lights/fan or anything 'battery powered' as the battery seems to lose charge very quickly (I'm talking a matter of seconds) and the car won't start. If I use jump leads the engine fires up straight away.

  I have a 2003 1.1 206, this morning I started the car to warm up, the fans were on with the radio, everything was fine until I tried to wash the screen, as soon as I tried the car cut out. Now the only thing that works is the starter, the key fob wont work, lights, hazards, dash warning lights, nothing works.

  There is power but when the key is turned there is not a sound as if the battery were dead. The red alarm indicator light is permanently on - on the top left of the radio -which indicates the alarm/immobiliser is on. I suspect that the immobiliser has been activated by the battery going flat as an anti-tamper device. My key fob can open and close the door but the alarm light will not go out.

  (it works if i turn key in passinger door, I mean the solenoids operate in all doors inc the drivers side ) I have sprayed the key hole with wD etc, did help for a short while, but was short lived also the key fob does not work, battery ok, led comes on ( is radio frequency type, and it seems to re-program ok, is it the receiver unit ?) I would be happy initially to get the door mech working on the drivers side , then tackle, the remote fob issue, all advice appreciated thanks in advance

  My speedo drops to zero after about 4 miles of driving, it then resumes normal operation after about another mile. The mileometer also stops, the car loses a little bit of power, and the volume of the radio suddenly drops. My fuel warning light is NOT affected, and nor is the rev counter. Also, it is not an intermittent problem (i.e. probably not a loose or poor electrical or mechanical connection) because it happens JUST ONCE on every journey from cold, and always after about 4 miles of driving.

  Hi, my radio reception has been dodgy at best for quite a while and the other day I went through one of those automated car washes (silly I know as they are c***). Anyway, it broke my aerial and need a replacement.

  car first gave me trouble about two years ago,stopped while driving like fuel was cut off.my car radio had been stolen a few months previously so suspected wiring had been damaged.took car to electrician and detected some faults in loom.fault fixed and car has been ok since.this week same problem happened,car just went dead while driving.towed to garage and when taken off towtruck car started but then car went beserk,now all lights on dash on and also radiator blower on.any ideas?

  I have recently purchased this car which had an existing problem with a non-working drivers window, I cleaned (lighty sponged) the inside of the car yesterday, went out again to run and heat/dry the car and although the central locking works I cannot turn the ignition key (at all) and it appears as though the immobilser is running (a red light is still flashing on the radio facia which I assume indicates this?) and not being de-activated by the key fob, another clue here bing that the key fob is not activating the memory seat settings - any help please it is snowing!

  when i am reversing they arent making any noice-do i have to activate them? the car doesnt have the original radio-its been replaced but all works fine. will this have something to do with it? have looked all through the manual and googled but to no avail, its the SVE model so i know they were factory fitted-just dont know how to get them to work!!

  Whether its in park or neutral i turn the key and nothing the car wont even try to turn over I just get dead silence. The battery is fine everything else is working perfectly radio etc but then after maybe 15-20 tries shifting between gears it will start randomly. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

  The analogue fuel gauge seems correct but now I can?t be sure. How can I rectify the faults? The radio settings were all shot, too, but easily re-entered. Nothing else seems to have been affected.

  The green "dipped beam" warning light on the dash doesn't work. The "light on" buzzer doesn't sound when you open the door with the lights on The radio and clock lights don't dim when the lights are on Dash lights (AFAIK) and the lights which illuminate the speedo + rev counter don't light up when the lights are on. I've got the 30 fuse fuse box and I've checked fuses: F2, F7, F9, F28 but they're all fine.

  Second question - there is a socket at the rear of the roof with a narrower screw thread than the radio aerial socket at the front of the roof. What's the rear socket for ? Apologies if questions seem a bit dumb. (The car is the Phase II version of the 306). Much obliged.

  The car is Turbo deisel manul. So if you declutch it starts but the central locking dont work with remote ooh and the radio is not working to. When im on the road and speed reaches over 25 mph all the doors lock themselves. But you have to open each doors from its only lock. Thanks

  Were any Backroomers caught there? I was just joining at J13 at about 0730 when I heard the first warning on the radio (from BBC Coventry and Warwickshire, which doesn't often mention anything south of the M42, so that got my attention.) Retuning to BBC Oxford, I found they were talking of little else, so I got as far as J11 at Banbury, turned back and went home to work instead.

  Hi, I am sitting here with a knackered steering colunm switch which incorporates the lights, indicators fog lights on one side and the wipers on the other with the Radio controls being removable. The indicator side is the part that is defective and is non-removable. The local pug dealer has told me that I can fit a new one myself but will then have to take it to the dealership to be reprogrammed.

  Or is it a case that the likes of the CRV, RAV4, Freelander, etc, simply do not have good enough drive systems for this weather? I remember as a kid back in the 1970s when we had weather like this the local radio station putting out requests from the emergency services for owners of 4x4s to contact them to help out. T.

  My factory fitted radio set on fire. I bought a second hand one, which works fine but there is no display on the centre column screen. This is proving to be a real headache as the Sat Nav wont show up and the Air Con is now on all the time and I can not turn it off, Nissan want a hefty sum to look at it which is money I just don't have.

  Hi Just bought a Focus (C-max) and one of the very few disappointments is that if the window is open more than half an inch or if the radio is on more than half a decibel, I can't hear the click of the turn indicators from the dashboard. It's such a quiet click. Is there any way I can make it louder, e.g. by wiring in an additional relay?
