  • What defines a 'modern classic'? 3 Sep 2007 (Forum)
No doubt it's a very subjective matter, but I'd propose that the following do fit the bill: Rover SD1 'Twin Plenum' Vitesse Alfa Romeo GTV6 BMW 635CSi (the 80's type) Audi Quattro whilst these do not: Rover SD1 2000 ('O'-series engine) Alfa 6 BMW 850 Audi V8

  • What company car thread but different! 16 Dec 2005 (Forum)
Must be comfy, have pace, lots of kit and not too boy racerish (i.e Subaru's and Mitsi's out). My shortlist so far is: Volvo C70 T5 GT Jag X Type 2.5 or 3.0 V6 BMW M3 E36 EVO BMW 330D Alfa Romeo 156 V6 Audi S3. The purchase cost isnt so much of an issue, more a loan under £350 per month up to 5 years. however resale in comparison to original purchase price must be decent.
  • Purchasing a used BMW330 DieselSpo 22 Nov 2004 (Forum)
Hello Room I am considering purchasing an 18 month old BMW 330Diesel Sport. I love the 6 cylinder diesel engine and the power and handling are arguably the best there is. I am looking to purchase through an approved BM franchise as I have seen too many examples of dodgy BMs in the private press.
  • X-type swap 21 Sep 2004 (Forum)
My previous prejudices against diesels have recently disappeared after driving various cars which were OK. I have narrowed down my search to Audi A4 2.5 TDI quattro and BMW 330d (both in tourer form). Given that the Jag is an auto, leather, cruise etc, it's got to have all the toys, and having driven both on extensive test drives recently I am 50:50. one half of me is swayed towards the Audi due to its 4x4 for the odd occaison when it may prove useful, but the other half likes the improved performance of the BMW.

Budget is around £20-25k and hes had a few ideas on what to buy which have included the following: BMW M5 Porsche Boxster Audi TT 225 Coupe (not the convertible - too "girly") Mercedes SLK 320 BMW M Roadster/Coupe Basically, he wants something which is a similar age to the M3 (1997) or younger, which still has the performance, can seat 2 people or more and has street cred.

  • Do we really need or want this level of complicati 6 Dec 2001 (Forum)
t know if vehicle manufacturers monitor internet sites such as this but I wonder if they do realise that folks, at least this one, do not want this level of complication. It is BMW?s intention to roll this technology down the range. How will all you technical guys service and deal with fault finding on this stuff when the ECU is slightly different for each individual gearbox?

  • Citroen C5 II (2008 - ) - The German C5? 9 Apr 2008 (Forum)
Followed a new one on the A64, yes from the rear it looks like a 5 series BMW. So that makes it German and only is driven by bullet headed Prussians with duelling scars? As per the current TV ad.
