  • I did it! 12 Nov 2004 (Forum)
I realise this may not be a big deal for 99.9% of BRoomers, but I am so pleased with myself I need to broadcast it here... On Saturday I drove in France for the first time (and survived, didn't make any mistakes or cause any problems). This is a seriously big deal for me, who has been to France every year for 12 years and always bottled out of driving at the last minute.
  • Honda Accord headlight aim 24 Sep 2003 (Forum)
I am in the (long drawn out) process of re-registering my UK-reg but USA-built 1992 Honda Accord coupe in France. Only sticking point on the 'controle technique' (MOT) test is the headlight pattern. It has plain lenses and I had taped them so the lights 'dipped' to the right, just as I used to do on every other car I took to France.
  • Bad service from Citroen 4 Dec 2002 (Forum)
Citroen ZX 1.9D with shafted driver\'s door lock. Rang Citroen in Crawley yesterday at 9am. They can email Citroen France with my chassis number and obtain the key number from it and make up a new lock and key. 9am today rang them, as no callback yesterday. Told I\'d hear this morning. 1pm today rang them again. They can\'t receive France\'s email which has been routed to Citroen\'s Head Office in Slough, because Crawley\'s email is down so they\'re waiting for I.T. to sort it.

  • Toyota Prius Plug-In - Driving on the Continent 16 Mar 2022 (Forum)
Do Xenon headlights need to have their dipping function redirected from left to right for driving on the right in Europe (particularly France)?  The headlights appear to be straight dripping.

  • Thoughts on driving in France 25 Aug 2003 (Forum)
m no francophile. Why is it that we cannot replicate this over here? I?ve just driven down to the SW corner of France & back and spent much time asking myself this question? The contrast with the road from Dover up to London and beyond was only too obvious. Ghastly concrete sections, poor road surface, etc. Its not all roses for the French though.

  • Mercedes 220 CDI - European breakdown 8 Aug 2011 (Forum)

  • Yellow Headlights 22 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Can someone please tell me why some cars ,seemingly older ones, in France have yellow headlights and others don't and they have black number plates on some cars and not on others, is this also to do with age?
  • Facom Tools 6 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Does anybody have good or bad experience of this brand? Widely available in France, apparently marketed as a premium brand. UK prices seem relatively high, but is it real quality or exploitation of a previous (good?) brand name. -- pmh (was peter)
