  dont know if this in in the right section plz move it if it isnt sorry just had my car into vxl as it has been running rough for a few months and this is what I got on the printout alarm remote key not syncronised & anti-theft warning system datalink no comms code b2955(garage have never seen that code) engine ecu road tested to identify fault,rechecked for fault codes,only one code stored p1600 for replace ecu-requires new ecu £587.65 fitted oil leak from sump both front drop links worn nail in o/s rear lip on both front discs so had a really good day ......lol questions 1. so whats wrong with my alarm?

  Does anyone knows if the Toyota ECU require rreprogramming to reset the DPF loading level after the DPF is cleaned? I have asked one of the DPF cleaner garage and they are unsure. They are charging £200 to remove, cleaned and refit to the car.

  if i was to put a new(second hand) ecu into my car will i need any codes or anything to program it i know some cars just plug in and they good to go, any one know if a 2000 x reg 306 2.0 hdi will be ok without programing. thanks. Rob

  Had it imported from Holland in Dec 02 from new. Feels a little underpowered. Had a chap round but he said it did not have a Bosch ECU so he could not do it! Any ideas?

  Took my Laguna to the garage today as airbag light is continually on - abs has switched itself off so that light is now on as well. They diagnosed a fault with the ecu and advised me to take car to a Renault dealer to be reset. Is going to the dealer my only option and if so, how much do you reckon it might cost? Thanks

  Hello guys, I am having problems with my 206 1.6hdi van of 2006 for more than 2 months now and i still wasnt able to fix everything up. Basically, what i am looking to know is the location of the fuel additive ECU on my car so i can unplug it in order to solve the error i am getting "Absence of communication with the fuel additive ECU" with the code "U0046". Can soneone please help? If you have some photos would be great.

  I have a Vauxhall Meriva B 2011 that isn't under warranty. The airbag light was on so I sent the ECU away to have the crash data cleared - but it was lost in the post. I bought a new ECU new from Vauxhall but I think this has to be re-programmed to the car. This is where I get confused with what to do next.

  Hi - Can anyone please help? Have a 98 Corsa 1.4 single point injection 38000 miles- (all short journeys) ECU light has just started illuminating each journey after about a mile. Can I read the fault codes in any way without buying a gismo? I seem to remember being able to do this with a cavalier- by shorting terminals in the diagnosis port you could read the fault codes from the number of flashes on the dashboard ecu light?

  So I can find out the correct part numbers I need for the replacement parts I need including the correct part number for the ECU unit I need. Could the ECU its has fitted be flashed to a 1.4? because the ECU fitted is for a 1.6 not  1.4. would this mean the ECU could give out incorrect fault codes? Qould I have to but A qhole new ECU kit. or could I buy only the main ECU unit. then re-use the other parts (tranasponder etc) to work with a new 1.4 ecu?

  Has anyone experienced similar problems, and have these been rectified by replacing or reprogramming the ECU? I suspect a fuel pump or ignition electrics problem could also be possible and I see many people mention coils affecting the ECU can I discount any of these? In addition if a new ECU is required is it particularly unwise to try and pick one of these up from a scrap dealer?

  E.g. Wipers, light, radio post, speedo etc. i'm looking at replacing the bsi unit along with an ecu and transponder set, but my ECU is sagem. I can't find anywhere another Sagem ECU with the bsi and transponder set. But I can find bosch, Magneti Marelli and Siemens sets. The BSI and fuse board is Siemens.

  Hi there, I have just got a GT TDI 130 PD golf and from cold the engine judders until warm! From what I have read, this happens with a few cars and can be fixed by swapping or remapping the ECU. Now before I send money to have it remapped (which I intend on doing any way at some point) I still have my Bora with the 130 PD engine that I have not yet sold. Therefore, I was thinking of swapping the ECU’s over to see if the fault swapped.
