  Hi,  My kia sorrento was losing coolant, main dealer diagnosed that the radiator was corroded and I replaced it. Got it back and noticed coolant reservoir was dropping. Noticed coolant around radiator cap then saw that the overflow tube from the radiator cap had snapped and tube leading back to reservoir dangling.

  She has owned the car for 6 years without  this problem, therefore we are doubting that the coolant level issue is the correct diagnosis, also the coolant level never alters. We are of the opinion that the fault lies in the dashboard somewhere and the buzzer is really getting to her.

  HI,  The coolant for my Polo should be G13 but this seems hard to find, most of it is G12+.  The G13 I have seen is either green or yellow and mine is pink.  The car was 2 years old when I bought it and I'm sure it's the original still in.

  Hi, I have a problem with my coolant warnig light coming on. When the car was cool I removed the filler cap and the level was low. I've checked it over the last two weeks and the level only drops and the warning light comes on if I've used the air con.

  I had trouble with coolant temperature sensor, some times work properly but others not. Were this sensor are located? Some times the fans do not start (Skoda Fabia 2001). Tranks, Vicente

  i have a found water coolant leak but it is dripping from the front diff so must be running from somewhere else have been told could be water pump weep hole but having trouble finding it without stripping down fan any help out there.

  The coolant pipe from the water pump to the thermostat housing is leaking on my 216. The pipe has corroded through and is now u/s. HELP--if I get a new pipe and the O rings,can I fit it without removing all the inlet side??

  Can someone please tell me where the engine block coolant drain plug is located on a 1995 Vauxhall Cavalier 1.7TD (Isuzu Engine)? The Haynes workshop manual only gives the location of the drain plug by a badly drawn diagram which bears no resemblance to any part of the engine block !

  Good Evening, I am hoping for some advise on a leak i have on my Fiesta. I have filled up the coolant twice this week and it seems to keep on emptying. There is a puddle of liquid under the engine on the road each morning i leave to go to work with the coolant tank empty. After doing a google search it may be thermostat housing that is the issue.

  I purchased a 57 plate 1.4 Mini One two weeks ago and yesterday, driving on the M5 the oil warning light came on and the car cut out immediately with a smell of burning from the engine.  When the AA turned up, the man indicated that the coolant level had gone below the coolant sensor which made the engine overheat with a possibility of engine damage.  The dealer said that he had serviced the car before I picked it up and that everything was alright.

  Hi, I wonder why some garages (independent, not main dealers) quote something like £45-65 for brake fluid change, £60-80 for coolant change where some others just add around £10-20 or so for both? The one that came with recommendations quoted £87 (inc vat)  for coolant change and when I questioned the price they said this was because they do a proper flush etc.

  Does oil in the coolant always mean headgasket failure? I've noticed light brown gunge floating in the coolant of my Rover 100, it's also in the filler cap and the top of the expansion tank. I immediatley thought the headgasket had gone so I did a compression test, all 4 cylinders came in around 200psi (yes, I did press the reset button!)

  I have an Omega MV6 2000 new face lift model, just bought it. The computer complains about two things: Coolant Level - when its fine, toped up to the level for cold, been like that for two weeks, has NOT gone down any. Washer Level - this again has been toped up to the full. And works. What I dont understand is why the dumb computer still thinks that the washer and coolant level's are both low?

  My Pug 207 diesel (1.6 HDi) is approaching its 8th birthday, and as advised in the maker's handbook, it still runs with the original engine coolant, which is still clear blue in the reservoir - though it is now just about at the MIN mark when cold. Would this also happen in a light-alloy block?  I'm a bit surprised that there has been no discolouration in a steel one.

  Got a coolant loss/leak on my Focus, so immediate thought, at 160k, is water pump - which fortunately aren't expensive - do any other parts need to be changed at the same time (belts) ? Any other causes other than pump?

  Can one of our more mechanically minded members give me an idea how easy it is to change the coolant on this engine? I don't think there are any bleed screws, so is just a case of draining the rad, flushing, and filling up? Does the block also need draining? I will probably use a flushing agent too, is there a recommended one?

  My car (57 plate Volvo S80 D5 Auto) is being serviced today, and I have been called by the garage to say the coolant is weak. Not low, just weak. They offered to drain and replace the coolant to the correct strength, for the sum of £40 (which in the scheme of the servicing costs by Volvo, seems OK). Now what doesn't appear OK is that a two year old car should have weak coolant.
