Vw golf gt tdi 2.0 140bhp 2008 - fuel temp sensor issue 11 Jul 2023 (Forum)
The glow plug light came on really briefly the other day whilst driving but was only on for a matter of seconds and went back off and hasn't come back on since. So I've had it in garage today on the diagnostics and it threw a fault code out for the fuel temperature sensor. I got the new sensor straight away, took it back to garage, they replaced it, took it for a run but was still doing it. Back on diagnostics and code had gone. Got told to give it a good run but it's still doing it. -
Toyota Aygo - Fuel lines make strange noise over 90 km/h 15 Jul 2021 (Forum)
In conclusion, if your car is making strange noises only above a certain speed check the fuel lines don't touch the car body. -
Average miles per annum car - Why so much attention paid to fuel consumption? 7 Oct 2018 (Forum)
I cannot understand why fuel consumption figures feature so much here, especially if retired and only driving a few thousand miles a year. If petrol is £6 per gallon and you do 40mpg, that's 15p per mile. But if you have a less desirable but more economical car which does 50mpg, that's 12p per mile, a saving of 3p per mile. -
peugeot 306 hdi dt (99) - fuel problem, starting and running 4 Jun 2015 (Forum)
If i disconnect the battery and leave it for a period of time say 24hrs, it seems to reset itself and run as normal and like its old self. then 30mins into the journey or the next time i start it any of the above problems might surface. To date i"ve tried changing the fuel filter, changed the lifter pump in the tank, cracked my injector pipes to see if there working, they are. checked the timing, all good, plugged it into a computer, the reading came back that " the fuel pump relay was malfunctioning". -
vauxhall vectra 2005 2.2 petrol - fuel problem (i think) 13 Jan 2014 (Forum)
There are not lights on the dash but i did put the car of a fault reader and it came up with air flow meter so i had it changed and codes cleared and re scanned and no fault codes but still have the same problem, I have also changed the spark plugs and taken the throttle body off and cleaned but nothing still the same. I have run out of ideas and can only think it is a fuel problem. Can anyone please help me many thanks matt -
Honda Accord iCDTI 2.2 - Reconditioned Engine: Fuel Leakage & Not Pulling 5 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Sometimes to the extent that the engine appears to stall/stop if one steps on harder to pick up speed. 2. The smell of fuel comes through the air vents, on and off. 3. When parked, it leaks fuel at both the front and rear (apparently from the engine; and also at the rear, close to the exhaut outlet). -
Vauxhall Zafira - Zafira Won't Start - Help! 29 May 2013 (Forum)
He seemed to think that it could be something called an emergency fuel shut of switch that needed resetting but there wasn't one (unless any of you know of one?!). He tried disconnected one of the injector pipes and found that the fuel was coming out but slowly. He also tried jump starting it but that didn't work either. -
peugeot expert 2005 2.0 hdi - expert 2005 2.0 hdi cuts out, over revs/over runs 11 Jan 2013 (Forum)
hi i have a expert 2.0 hdi the mil light kept coming on n off. so i change the fuel filter (seamans) and once i dont that all hell broke lose. now my cab has many different codes. starts up everytime idle no problems drives well but once you are up to speed say in 4th or 5th take your foot of the power then try to reapply engine has cut out apply clutch cabs out cold have to take key out of ignition to get it restarted as if you dont will never start. also when in idle when you turn cab off it over runs 2/3secs but if u have small revs cuts out staight away. also if u hold the revs at 2000 after 5 secs will rev itself up as if you have applied the power hard. i have checked the wiring and found some dodgy wires replace no different changed the filter again nothing. changed the fuel rail sensor nope changed the fuel temperature sensor nope. peugeot say they think its sucking in air from somewhere??? -
Peugeot 106 - Coil Pack Problem 17 May 2012 (Forum)

Vauxhall Corsa C - Car will not start, Help please! 17 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I have drained the ECU also to try and reset this and remove any faults, with no affect. I have a spark at each plug, and appear to be getting fuel in the cylinder and if i relieve the fuel pressure at the injector rail it repressurises when next attempting to start. I have checked the fuel pump relay and the ignition relay also which I belive are good. -
Renault - 94 2.5 Master T35D Leaking Diesel 12 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Hi there, I don't know if anyone can help me but I've a 1994 Renault Master T35D camper van with a non-turbo 2.5 diesel engine. Recently it's been getting air in the fuel system to the point that I can't start it from cold without first priming the fuel filter by pressing the plunger pump around 30 times. After that it starts ok. Last weekend while on a cycling trip I noticed fuel dripping out from under the engine. -
Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 01 2.0 Strange non starting fault 2 Jun 2009 (Forum)
Did the same again and it started again. Got about 100yards and it stopped again. Decided to call AA. He checked tank fuel pump, was fine. Fuel getting up to filter no problem. Plugged computer in and it showed cam shaft intermittent fault. Changed cam shaft, started no problem. Left idling about 3 mins, cut out. Still struggles to start. -
Peugeot - Expert 2002 2.0 HDi - Failing power/boost/pick up 20 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Symptoms: Struggles to get to 60 on a flat piece of road No pick up when foot pressed flat. Feels like boost from the turbo. No acceleration. Can barley get up hills. Eccesive fuel consumption. It doesn't get hot ever. Oil levels fine. No smoke No tapping No Knocks No warning lights apart from the usual Peugeot Airbag Light. The only bad thing I've done is running out of fuel which of coarse made the Engine management light come on, 10 months ago. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 02 1.8TDCi car cutting out at speed 10 Dec 2008 (Forum)
My reason for this lengthy post is that others may have similar problems so before spending loads of cash (which others have done only to find the problem persists)make sure you have a quality fuel filter fitted. I know nothing about filters (and I don't work for vw) but I think there is some additional item incorporated in the fuel filter for the focus but no doubt others more technically minded can enlarge on this subject. -
Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 03 1.9TDi S 130 - intermittant non starting 17 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Having called the AA out a couple of times when it broke down, on both times they thought it would be a fuel problem such as a fuel lifting pump or the like. The car has been to a vw dealer, they found nothing as its intermittant. It then went to a non dealer who replaced a fuel pump priming circuit, as this was one error code brought back from the AA. -
Peugeot 106 (1991 - 2002) - 1995 1.5 diesel - air in fuel system 15 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I can push the pin into the plastic body against a spring pressure and by gripping the pin with a pair of pliers it can be completely withdrawn from the housing. The pin is about 1" long and 1/16 in diameter. When I operate the fuel priming pump diesel fuel is emitted from the join between the housing and the pin; so presumably air can also be drawn in here. What is this 'valve'? and can anyone venture an opinion as to what could have caused it to fail? -
Ford Mondeo III (2000 - 2007) - Oil leak on '05 TDCi (130) - fuel pump replaced 28 Jan 2008 (Forum)
And I'm not aware of any other fuel pump on this engine. This, and everything else has been warranty work. So, has mentioning a slight oil leak won me a new common rail pump? I tend to think it has! -

Sulphurious 12 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Low Sulphur diesel is causing a higher incidence of fuel pump failure due to the decrease in lubricant. Discuss.
