SEAT Cordoba (1994 - 2003) - Running a VAG TDi on vegetable oil 6 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Is it ok or do they blow up? I used to run a 1.8 TD 1996 Ford Mondeo and a 1996 Volvo 850 TDi estate on 30-70% (depending on how warm it was) and they both got along ok with the only problem being on 100% vege oil they didn't boost, but as soon as added diesel they where ok again. -

Rover 200 (1995 - 1999) - 97 1.4 Car won't stop running... 18 Mar 2009 (Forum)
I recently changed both the alternator and starter motor on my Rover 214i and now my car won't stop running, even when I take the key out of the ignition or take the battery off. The only thing that turns the car off is switching the headlights on. Any suggestions as to what might be the problem? Thanks... -
Rover 200 and 400 (1989 - 1996) - 91 1.6 hot restart 29 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Our 216 frequently won't restart when it's a bit warm. If you do a decent run and it gets hot it will restart ok, but a short run almost guarantees hassle--it will fire up then die immediately. If we wait a couple of minutes it will run again. It's a real pain at the pumps!!! -

Holden Astra CD 13 Apr 2007 (Forum)
I have a problem with a Holden Astra CD 1999. It has done 140000. It seems to run at the coldest mark when travelling at speed but when you are driving around town it seems normal. Is this a prob with themostat and if so is it dangerous to the car to run cold or do i not need to worry about it. -
CG125 Honda running in 31 May 2005 (Forum)
Is this a good place to change gears or not? What would be the optimun rpm to change gears before and after running the engine in. Any information from cg owners or not would be appreciated. Also, what would be the best way to clean and polish the chrome. Would wd40 and a cloth be sufficient protection? Many thanks for your answers. -

VW Timing belt and general running 7 May 2003 (Forum)
I have noticed that my Passat does not run as smoothly as it used to. It has passed 150k and is in need of the large service which includes checking or replacing the timing belt. Can a general idle looseness and a loose feeling to the motor in general be caused by the timing belt, tapers etc? -
Running lights and LAS 18 Jan 2002 (Forum)
There's a very articulate and well-written letter in January's Cycling Plus magazine about the dangers or otherwise of cars having permanently on running lights. The writer concludes that, based on the evidence of other countries, cyclists, pedestrians and so on will not be "drowned" in a sea of lights. Interesting. More interesting is the writer, one Christopher Watson of Newcastle upon Tyne. -

Renault Safrane (1992 - 2000) - 1995 2.2vi overfuelling/rough running on start 10 Nov 2008 (Forum)
This car is just so comfortable and economical for its size! Unfortunately now on about one in every 5 starts it runs very roughly at about 600rpm with a strong smell of petrol from the exhaust. It's almost as if not all the cylinders are firing initially. If you switch off and try again it may start perfectly OK, but more often the revs slowly creep up to 1000 to 1200 and the rough running gradually smooths as the revs increase over a period of about 4/5 minutes. -

Peugeot 307 XSI - Fuel System Monitor "Not Ready" 25 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Hi, I have recently purchased a 307 XSI, it had an itial problem of a misfire but have replaced the coil and plug, so thats all sorted. But when i first start it up it runs a bit lumpy and gasy from the exhaust. Once it has run for 10 minutes it settles down and everything runs ok from there. I have checked it with a small scanner and there are no fault code but the Fuel system monitor reports "Not Ready" all other sensors are reporting "Ready" Any ideas, tips, suggestions would be helpful. i have had a mobile mechanic look at it, he said its running ok, but wants to give it an oil change etc?......... -
