  I have seen alternatives that would save quite a few quid but am curious about the quality and ratings. e.g. on Black Circles the Michelin is £102 and their own brand is £55. Are there known equals to Michelin and how relevant are the ratings for fuel economy, rain and noise? For example what would the fuel economy difference over 10,000 miles be between an A rated and C rates tyre? Many thanks

  Sometimes it will lock the front passenger door and the driverside rear door, also the boot and the fuel cap. Sometime it wont lock any of them, sometimes it will only lock the boot and fuel cap. Even if you lock the doors manually it might not open from the inside. Any help appreciated.

    Hi folks, i have read some posts about starting problems, and i just want to make sure im going to do the right thing,  my 205 gti 1.6 turns over, plenty of petrol, air flow meter works, sparks on all cylinders but wont start, now ive changed the ignition amp as sugested, after reading previous posts, it looks like i have to replace fuel pump relay, as there is plenty of fuel getting through im not so sure,  thanks in advance for any help ;-)

  It then starts to pick up but still runs poorly and will cut out when I stop.  I know it is probably to do with the Pierburg 2e2 carb. Fuel pump pumping,  Visible jet at top under valve/flap jetting.  It just seems like on acceleration too much air is getting drawn in and is affecting the fuel mix.   Hi there, everythings in order with the fuel lines etc, but surely if there was a problem with fueling and air why would the bike run fine in 1,2,3 gears, thats what I can't get my head around, could the prob be with the spark plugs/coils ???

  When driving normally, it's fine, but if you give it some stick and (for example) shift from 2nd to 3rd, the car starts to lurch and continues to do so unless you take your foot off the power, and gradually put it back on. I'm immediately thought fuel filter or some sort of blockage, but the fuel filter was changed at the last service, which was a few months ago. Any ideas? Thanks.

  1/ Heavy black smoke when under load, accelerating or pulling 2/ speedo not working 3/ fuel gauge not working In the first place none of the dash clocks temp gauge warning lights were working, a change of fuse in no14 cured that problem but left it without speedo or fuel gauge. I am guessing the smoke is over fuelling, but know nothing about diesels or how to check injectors etc.

    I am using a glow plug style vegetable oil pre heater unit on a Citroen xantia with a bosch pump. My fuel mix is 80% new vegetable oil and 20% diesel. It was fine at first but now it stalls in the morning even as the engine gets hot. I then need to prime the engine/pump with the hand primer to get it started again.

  I own a 2001 Santa-Fe 2l petrol in v good condition. I have been trying to sell or swap for a few months because of the high fuel costs. I now have the chance to swap with a 2002 Citroen Picasso 1.6l petrol, its also in v good condition. I will also recieve ?500 in cash. Generally do users think this is a good deal for me ? Will I make decent savings in the fuel costs ?

  In the past it offered 3% on Shell purchases, 1% on other purchases + Free Legal Motoring Cover............ This was cut back a off couple of months ago to 1% on Shell fuel, 0.5% on other uses, No Legal Cover......... Personally I boycotted using the Shell Card, bought BP fuel...................... Maybe I was not the only one........Citi are offering another card in its place.

  It let me down this weekend and while I had the bonnet up I heard a click from under the ecu plate. I think it was from the fuel injection relay. Anyway, it started then. So......is it an ecu fault.? or something in the fuel circuit ??...it doesn't idle very well either. Can I fix it without going to a dealer??

  Yesterday i filled up my car with petrol and when i turned the key the enginge turned over but wouldnt start.I had to push it off the forecourt and then after 30mins or so it finally started. But it started first key. No staggered start just like normal. Could this be a fuel problem like the fuel pump etc. Please advise pretty baffled by this and dont really wnat to drive it too far incase it does it again. Michael

  for no apparent reason while driving along the oil light will flash on about 4 or 5 times then engine will cut out. sometimes when driving the revs will suddenly drop then return to normal. i put it in for a service thinking the fuel filter or something may be dodgy. also had the plugs, oil filter, oil and air and fuel filter done in the service. i bought it 2 weeks ago. slt
