• Nissan Micra (2003 - 2010) - 03 1.4 Key not locking car with central locking 20 Jan 2010 (Forum)
  sometimes the keyless entry buttons work on the car sometimes not. is it a problem with the keyfob battery or do you think there is a problem with the nats itself? can i just replace the key fob battery myself? does the fact the little rubber covering on the drivers door for the keyless entry button has come off have anything to do with it?

  At the moment I have the battery on charge and trying to dry the car out a little. I have seen this fault on forums before but not got to the bottom of it. ***If anyone knows what the mystery VAG code 17978 and dash code is please tell.*** Apart from that its a great motor and handles well for an estate.

  I have a 1999 Audi A6 2.5 TDi V6 that won't start - can anyone give me a pointer in the right direction......? The car has been left standing for 6 months. I went to it last weekend & the battery was completely flat, nothing in it whatsoever. I removed the battery & fitted a brand new fully charged one, tried to start it, but wouldn't fire up. I looked down the oil filler cap to ensure that the timing belt was OK & the belt is OK as everything in the rocker box is turning as it should.

  I bought a 95 model (1.1 petrol) in 2002 at 40000 and sold yesterday at 120000 and i found the car very comfortable ( i would ofter drive 4-5 hours a day) and i am 6ft 2, economical (48-50 mpg), and reliable only one non start in five years due to a flat battery. In the time i owned the vehicle other than brakes, tyres( the rears did 80000 miles and still had 3/4 mm tread left) exhaust service items and battery the only things i had to do to the car were as follows 55k head gasket and radiator, 66k wishbones replaced due to worn bushes and ball joints 80k new gearbox / driveshaft seal 9 years old new stereo 96k front offside wheel bearing & drive shaft gaters 112 k offside wishbone due to worn bushes ( only 46k and 3years since done last) i know peug's not everyone cup of tea - perhaps i was lucky- but i thought this was a very good car.

  Now the story in full is the barrel got jammed the other day and the key wouldnt come out, this meant the ignition was staying on, and as it was dark and raining, the only thing i could do was lock it up and disconnet the battery. When i came to look at the fault, i found that one of the three pins on the back of the barrel, you know the prongs that turn the ign swich, had broken off and jammed the ign switch, hence stopping the barrell from turning, now i have managed to repair the barrel prongs using a spare barrell i had lying around, but now on rebuilding it, the starter starts to turn over before the key gets that far (this also happens if i turn the ign switch manually, with a screwdriver)but i am also getting no dash lights except for the battery warning light.??

  The other day I drove it for a few miles, & when I came to restart it-nothing. AA diagnosed faulty starter. So we bumped it home & I took off the battery to fully recharge over the weekend. However, after putting it back in this morning the alarm system won't respond to the key fob remote control. Continuously on. I've replaced the battery in the key fob today, still no response.

  Hi all, Thanks for everyones previous assistance on this site, I always review articles here hoping not to have to write my own again - but here i am :( I am having starting troubles with my BMW 316, 1996. I just had the starter and the battery and the alternator checked (I had a dodgy connection between battery and ignition unit causing everything having to be checked over!). But I now have starting trouble again. The starter turns over and over when I turn the key, but the engine will not start until I have done this probably two to three times, and when it does start (and I don't think that I am being paranoid here) I smell a sulphorous (eggy) smell when it does start.

  Stop-start hasn't worked for months. Not driven much during lockdown and been sitting a lot in the cold weather. Took it for a battery check yesterday (No problem with it), and a good run today, but no joy. Can anyone advise? Thanks

  The reviews for the Nextbase 312GW dash cam look solid. Only disappointing thing by the looks of it was the internal battery life for photo mode - http://cardashcamreviews.com/nextbase-312gw-dash-cam-review/. Still love the idea of that magnetic mount though, as I've had a few dash cams in the past that have been very trick to dismount!

  My dash odometer/fuel economy/outside temperature display unit started cycling rapidly through the options too fast to read any of it. So I disconnected the battery and it reset for a while but now the radio unlock code won't enter and I can't reset the clock. Any ideas?

  Engine won't start no warning and glow plug light. Called breakdown was told that a relay had blown, towed home. The relay box is by the battery and relays look hard to get at. First question. Do I need to remove the relay box?  Second question. Which one is the fuel pump relay and glow plug?  Thanks

  Hi, I recently had to change my car battery and in doing so my radio cassette player has stopped working. I believe I need to enter a code to get it to work again which I do not have.  Can anyone please help? The radio is 5000c and the serial number is M011197.

  Everytime I activate the central locking via the Key fob, the central locking locks all doors but the indicator on the passenger side remains on and will not go out, even when I unlock the car via the fob the light remains on which is now draining the battery flat as it won't go out, any suggestions ?
