  Hi all the seats in my hdi have got a bit worn especialy on the bolsters, I have gone out and got some replacement seats for the car but there is no side airbags in them unlike on my old ones, Before i fit these seats to the car is there anything i can do to the wireing loom to stop the airbag light comeing on. any help would be gladly excepted.

  V5 on doormat this morning (Friday)! Cant grumble with that. Think I may wait somewhat longer for refund on VEL from old car. Another thing I also discovered was that some dealers can issue VELs for new cars rather than having to go off to the nearest LVLO. Now I know why I have seen some VELs with 'Dealer' stamped on them.

  My W203 mercedes had a service yesterday and had 4 new brake discs fitted. It also had a front caliper replaced but the other side was left with the old caliper. I thought that calipers should be replaced in axle pairs. Can anyone please advise? The car is a lease car so they authorised the work. Thanks

  Seen a good low milleage Fiesta 1.25 Zetec as I need a second car, its done 34,000 miles and its never had a cambelt change. Obviously its 11 years old so this will need doing. How much is likely to cost? I am going to offer £500 for the car. Thanks. PS I live in Manchester if that helps.

  Random question, is there anywhere private in the UK like an old air strip or such where you can run your car up to maximum speed? Not in a Santa Pod kind of way...I just really want to see what my car's like at 114mph (I thought it was faster than that actually, but a Google search reveals the top speed is a mere 184km/h...) without having to worry about a ban.

  When I returned to it a little while later all the windows were fully open. The doors were still locked and the alarm was set. The car behaved perfectly well the rest of the time I was out. Is this a known problem, or just a one off ? The Vauxhall main dealer say they have never heard of it. Car is a 2006 1.8 petrol, not quite a year old.

  I read an article in the paper here in France today: total sales of Renault cars for the period January-July 2006 are down by more than 11%. In the same period, UK sales of Renault cars fell by a staggering 23.7% over the previous year! They are blaming it on an ageing product range, with the exception of the new Clio.

  Watchdog covered 4 x Volvo XC 90s (diesel) that had gone on fire. The owners's complaints centred around: The fact that the cars were 100% destroyed and could have endangered life. The fact that Volvo UK were not interested in investigating the cause with a view to possibly preventing further fires. The first XC 90 (diesel)was 5 days old when fire started in the boot area before consuming the whole car.
