Peugoeot 306 sxi 1.6 r reg - Puzzle 18 Dec 2012 (Forum)
Changed fuel pump and engine ticked over fine but any pressure on the accelerator it just cuts out. Now I'm lost. Checked the injector breather valve and let it run for about 20 mins. Idleing fine but the same problem. Any push on the gas pedal it just cuts out. Update. Disconnected battery and left for 10 mins. Started engine back up and now it seem if its not running on all cylinders. -

Honda Shuttle 1996 - Honda Shuttle problems -lots, not sure if linked 5 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Replaced this and all dashboard lights come on with no keys in the car. Also when you start it and remove the keys, the engine keeps running. If I take the fuse out, the car runs fine and the keys turn the engine off etc.. but still have D4 flashing. Firstly, are the 2 things linked? Second, is it normal! -
Ford Focus 2001 - Ford Focus Help 8 Feb 2012 (Forum)
Hi..I have a Ford Focus 2001. Car runs fine on short runs. On longer journey e.g. 30 minutes and when cruusing at constant speed of 40 or 50 the car suddenly jolts as if loss of fuel. No engine lights comes on. The car then picks up again and generally is ok. -
Winter Tyres - Now or never? 19 Jan 2012 (Forum)
We live on small close which is reached via a mildly inclined road, but that was enough to defeat the car during the worst of winter 2010/2011. The need for better traction is higher this year, with increased school run activity, and an elderly relative who needs regular assitance. However, we intend to keep running the FR-V for at least another 3 years (great car btw). Would it be wiser to invest in rims as well as tyres, or just get the tyres swapped off the current alloys every spring and autumn? -

Vauxhall Vectra B - Can i get refunded from dealership for fault 5 May 2011 (Forum)
I drove the car for 28 days and racked up approximately 1000 miles on the clock when the engine began running on three cylinders. I went back to the dealership and they have attempted a repair, replacing a couple of components, but it didnt work and the problem still exits. I returned the car again, but due to work i cannot keep messing around and have told them 3 days for the car to run or i want all my money back. -

Standing in line on zigzag line 27 Jan 2011 (Forum)
When the traffic clears the parked car takes off and I drive in to the spot. During the whole period of standing which is about 1min the engine is running, full lights are on, I have my foot on the brake, and the engine is running and nobody leave the car. Question is if this qualifies under point 240 "You MUST NOT stop or park on the area marked by the zig-zag lines" My view is that I'm in traffic just as for example standing in a car queue for red light in front of a pedestrian crossing. -
Renault Espace 2004 2lt petrol auto trans - Various problems all I hope related 5 Jan 2011 (Forum)
Once warm however, the car goes into limp mode and is difficult to get over 30 mph unless going down hill. Also when warm the car will not start first time and run. It will start but stops almost immediately. This must be repeated two or three times before the engine runs normally. At about the same time we noticed an oil leak –not sure from where- and found the oil level seriously low. -
Vauxhall Vectra B 1.9cdti 2007 - Intermittent starting - alternator? 11 Nov 2010 (Forum)
My dad did a quick test : 12.5V engine off, 13.6V engine running and no electrical load, 13.4V engine running with lights and heaters on. I understand that these alternators are ECU controlled, similar to Ford Focus and Mondeo. -
Renault Clio II - Starting problem 1 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Battery was fully charged before attempting to start it. When you turn the ign on you can hear the fuel pump run for around 5 seconds. If you wait to crank the engine until after the fuel pump has stopped the engine will not turn over. If you crank the engine before the fuel pump has stopped it will only turn over for as long as the fuel pump still has to run. -
Ford Fiesta - Screenwash failure 13 Apr 2010 (Forum)
The leak doesn't seem to have got any worse (just a few drips down by the driver's side front tyre) but when I operate either the front or back screenwash nothing happens. There's not even the noise of the pump running. Are the screenwash pumps on their own electrical circuit - is it possible I've blown the fuse by repeatedly running the tank dry? No other electrics seem to have failed. Also, are you able to offer any advice about repairing the leak? -
Chrysler Voyager V6 1998 - Misfire 10 Apr 2010 (Forum)
It nows seems to be everytime we start from cold, although if we go on a longer journey of 1 hour or more, stop the car and leave it for an hour or so then start and drive after a while it will clear and run as normal. The fuel consumption with the misfire is half of when running normally. The garage have no idea, but one theory that I have is that the ecu (powertrain) and the ecu for the transmission, both sets of wires areopen to water/moisture. -
Peugeot Partner Combi (2001 - 2004) - 03 2.0HDi starting problems 22 Feb 2010 (Forum)
It is giving strange readings (when the engine is not running) and it appears that it is not allowing the sensor on the camshaft to communicate with the sensor on the crankshaft(both sensors having been replaced). The problem only started after the cambelt was changed, but all the cambelt work has been re-checked. -
Skoda Octavia II (2004 - ) - 1.4tsi fuel consumption 12 Jan 2010 (Forum)
We were way off that with the Skoda, but I figured it was stop-start winter motoring and we needed a run to form a true impression. Xmas brought trips to Bournemouth and North Wales. Long runs on A roads, few traffic lights, average speed between 40 and 50. Result - 43 mpg. Not bad in itself, but the claimed extra-urban is around 55. -
Citroen Xsara (1997 - 2004) - 02 2.0 Software update 16 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Is anyone aware of a softwware update to cure a persistent problem I have with my Xsara HDI 110? It runs but not well. Almost as if it's in partial limp home mode particularly noticeable below 2,000 rpm when it has liitle torque and 'bogs' down' sometimes when I want to pull out of a junction. It returns good MPG and occasionally it has a 'good day' and runs much better. -
Peugeot 406 (1999 - 2004) - 02 2.0 HDi loss of power 23 Oct 2009 (Forum)
It gets up to 80-90-100 mph, and sits there comfortably, but seems to take an age to do so. I've not noticed any reduction in fuel economy, lumpy running, black smoke ( the general things you associate with injector problems ) and the car appears to run fine, its just this 'diminished' performance that's puzzling me. Can anyone help ?? -
Honda CR-V II (2002 - 2006) - 05 2.2 rear diff noises when on full lock 10 Sep 2009 (Forum)
To be honest we've had so many problems with this car, bought new in 2005 (2.2 deisel executive 41K now) that I'm tempted to get rid and go back to BMW, although financially it's not a good time for us. For interest, it does about 40mpg, more on a run, and fuel consumption got worse when the egr valve was changed. I've done an additional oil change between annual services, as it does a lot of short runs. Handling was improved when I had 235/60-16 fitted all round, as was noise in the cabin and grip particularly in the wet-recommended.
