  People rushing to the petrol-station after the budget speech to beat 6pm deadline. Weekly reports of people you know's cars being broken into and the radio-cassette player being stolen. You know someone who knows someone who's just had their Sierra XR4 stolen Knobs falling off the fascia of car stereos  
• Hyundai Getz 1300 2004 - Won't start no sound 9 Jul 2015 (Forum)
  My car will not start, when I turn the key it makes no noise at all, no clicking etc. Electrics are working, lights radio, heater fan etc but it won't start. No warnings given its worked fine up till now. It did have starter motor and ring gear replaced about 9 months ago but all has worked well until now. Any ideas?

  The New Scientist magazine has an article in issue 2947 about the EU and the UK authorities funding research into devices for use by the police and military to stop speeding vehicle by firing radio pulses at them.  They are cognisant of the difficulties that motorist would have if the engine of their car stopped while in a high speed chase.  Difficulties like disengagement of power steering and braking.
• Nissan Primera P12 - 2003 - CD player problem following battery change 12 Nov 2013 (Forum)
  When I try to eject the disc it just makes a clicking sound as if the mechanism is trying to push the disc out, but it stays in. The radio is working, and the current CD will play. any help offered would be much appreciated, thanks, John 
• BMW 1 Series (2012) - Lost settings in thunderstorm 15 Jun 2013 (Forum)
  Following a brief but strong thunderstorm (domestic electrical supply disrupted briefly) my (garaged metal door significant?) car lost its selected settings for indicator repeat, auto door lock & radio tuning pre-sets. Is this unusual? Does it indicate a lack of ESD protection? Incidentally after a dealer software upgrade I had to re-enter all settings but perhaps this is normal?

  Would 1-2 or 3p a litre off be a better incentive? They are advertising like mad on comercial radio right now. I can't decide if that's desparation or they are onto a winner with these medalions. What do you think.      
• ford focus 1.8 mp3 - flat battery 4 Feb 2012 (Forum)
  I garaged my focus for a few weeks and when I went to start it I wouldn't. when I turned the key the small red light above the radio flashed. I assumed this was the immobilizer. After another couple on months I went to start it and now the battery is completedly fllat. and not even a glimmer from that red light. please help me. thank you, kind sirs.
• Citroen Xsara - Dashboard Stopped Working 1 Aug 2011 (Forum)
    Does anybody know if this is supported by a fuse and where it is located before I start stripping the dashboard out? The Radio & Information panel illuminate with no problems and the swiches on the centre console illuminate when switching on the lights, seems to be confined to the dash panel.  Everything else on the car works fine.

  A friend of mine has a 2003 Citroen Xsara Picasso with crazy electrics.  Wipers turn on and off at any time Radio does not work. Indicators often flash once when headlights are switched on Random warning messages on electronic display such as 'water low' when it is not.   Could some/most of these problems be a column stalk related fault?

  Came to start my 1997 306 xltd with only a key pad immobiliser this morning and well its dont start.Punched in the code and soon as i typed 1st number both the green and red light stayed on.The lights radio etc still work.Some ticking noice starts(sounds like a flasher unit) and the head light sign on the dash flashes when i try to start.HELP !!!!

  Hi, my dad has a 57 Reg Picasso 1.6hdi desire. Does anyone know if the radio has any form of ipod/mp3/aux socket? Thinking of maybe getting him an ipod and USB turntable (on offer from Lidl this Thursday) but not sure if his car has any connections? If not could go down the FM modulator thingy but easier with a cable!

The half hour programme won a Sony award, and while I can't say it's very cheerful, I found it compelling listening.

  Very embarassing ! I had a radio wiring problem that was fixed recently, but after the battery was reconnected the clock was 5 hours out ( I bought the car 3 months ago and am still waiting for the manual / handbook). I've tried all combinations of buttons to try to set the time correctly without success....any ideas ?

  I have just renewed my taxed disc online (this is about 2 weeks early), is it legal to display this disc before the old one has run out? If not, then with all of the online/radio/TV encouragement to renew I would have thought that they would have included some kind of bold warning not to display it until the old one has expired.

  And everytime i take it out after a short time on the road it starts to judder and the rev counter goes up and down on its own until i eventually come to a stop??? also the radio display comes on but no sound distributes into the car?? please help.

  Only problem is a persistent creaking/rattle from the dashboard area, especially when cold. Seems to be coming from the area around the radio/heater controls - these creak when pressed hard. Does anyone have any ideas how this could be fixed, please? Cheers, Tony

  whats the worst tyres youve ever fitted to your car?, i put a pair of cheap chinese budget tyres on my motor and i couldnt hear the radio above 30, i had them balanced but the car still juddered and hopped ,in the end i put my old ones back on (very worn bridgestones) so i need to replace them soon any one know of a good cheap tyre pref not part worn?

  A bit of a long-shot this......I'm off on another visit to China in a couple of months and will be spending a few days in Hong Kong. I'd like to buy one or two of those fancy 'double DIN' DVD/CD/radio units with the motorised screen. Anyone know of a good in-car audio shop in HK (Central, Kowloon, Mong Kok areas)? I don't want to get ripped off by being sold faulty kit etc.

  got a new cd player for my 1997 mk3 golf today and installed it. it went in easily enough, plugged straight into original cables via a the kenwood adaptor. i stored the radio staions as normal. later on went back out and the station were no longer stored. stored them again and later on again the same happened. why is it not holding the stations in the memory? any help/ideas
