Old Fiesta diesel - dying? 9 Dec 2004 (Forum)
But when I change up through the gears a bit soon, or negotiate sharp bends or roundabouts without changing down from third to second, the whole car just jerks and "kangaroos". To pull away I need to drop another cog. Should I be worried that I've spent my hard-earned on a car on it's last legs? Or is it just normal that this wheezy old torque-free lump can't pull itself along? -

The itch to replace my Logan (now just coming up to three years old) with an older semi-classic estate is presenting itself again! I have spotted a 1988 Merc W124 at a local specialist, who I know through using them when I had my CLK. They know the car having serviced it, and it looks in good nick, with 120,000 miles and a good history. -

I am fairly certain the air-con in my seven year old Mondeo has never been repaired/regassed at all since new, yet it still seems to working fairly effectively if not 100%. I rarely use it winter except to speed up screen de-misting, so it is not as if I have it running regularly outside of the June-August decent weather period....anyone have an older car than mine with air-con that has not needed any work? -
