    The two-seater coupe with gull-wing doors, was powered by a Ford Lincoln V8 mounted transversely to the rear of the cabin and driving the rear wheels. The front suspension has double wishbones and the car has roadster style wheel arches front and rear. The rear aspect is particularly impressive with four exposed tail silencers and a horizontal rear panel with end plates mounted low down featuring Chevrolet Corvette style round lights.
  • BMW implicated in Volkswagen emissions scandal 24 Sep 2015 (News)
    To recap, the issue relates to a 'cheat device' fitted to a specific Volkswagen 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine, internally codenamed EA189, and fitted to 11 million vehicles in the US since 2009. The cheat device, fitted between the engine and the exhaust system, detects specific driving patterns so that it can alter the characteristics of the car when a rolling road emissions test is being performed. The device specifically reduces Nitrous oxides emissions (NOx), which are linked to exacerbating and even causing respiratory disease, but doing so increases the car’s fuel consumption.

Excessive fuel consumption is a major bugbear too – and a key factor in determining whether an owner would choose the same brand of car again. Only two in ten who reported high consumption would buy from the same brand again, while of those that were happy with their economy, four in ten said they’d give their brand repeat custom.

Estimated £3,000 - £4,000. Sold for £2,800 inc. For off road enthusiasts, there was a 2007 Foers Ibex, built by John Foers using Landrover running gear and a bespoke spaceframe to give greater ground clearance and better approach/departure angles. Estimated at £16,000 - £18,000, but not sold.
  • Veteran Toledo steam car set for Regent Street Motor Show 9 Oct 2014 (News)
    ’ He found the Toledo for sale at a farm auction in America in 2004 and in the course of delving into its history he discovered that its modifications – including a longer chassis and a larger than usual water tank – meant it was the very same steam car used by photographer Oliver Lippincott to make that pioneering drive from Flagstaff in Arizona to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon. The car was made by the American Bicycle Company of Toledo, Ohio, in 1902 and took three days to cover the 67 miles to the edge of the Canyon.

    The sessions will teach basic skills and help build confidence, with participants starting on a ‘twist & go' scooter and, if their instructor thinks they're good enough, working up to a 125cc geared motorcycle. The idea is part of both Honda (UK)'s and the wider industry's drive to make it easier for people to try motorcycling. Figures reveal a total of just one million taxed motorcycles and five million license holders in the UK; pointing to around 55 million who are yet to enjoy the many benefits involved from holding a motorcycle licence.  Sessions will be held in groups of up to four people in the safe and secure environment of Donington Park, in Castle Donington, near Derby.

    Out of the 96 cars that left the Great Wall of China on 28th May, 86 cars crossed the finish line in Place Vendome, Paris today, with thousands waiting, including friends and family wanting to see their loved ones after 33 days on the road. The crews have travelled around 8000 miles, driving almost half way around the globe, crossing two Continents and the biggest single land-mass between two capital cities that has seen a full east to west crossing of the World’s greatest wilderness.

    In addition, the high profile jury selected the Kia GT as the winner of the concept award.  The rear-wheel drive sports sedan design study made its world premiere in September 2011 at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
