What percentage of punctures are not repairable? 17 Jan 2017 (Forum)
I notice quite a few cars are now supplied without a spare wheel does this mean there is an epidemic of stranded motorists ? I seem to suffer about 1 puncture every 3-5 years. I also notice the local tip is often strewn with old nails and screws etc so try to be a bit vigilant. -

vw golf - vw 1.6 or 2.0 diesel 23 Feb 2015 (Forum)
Hi, looking for the next 3-4 year old car. Just wondering what engine is the best for reliabilty or are they both the same. It seems like the 1.6L suffers injector and egr problems but you don't hear so much about the 2.0L. Is this because there is less 2.0L models around. -

VW Eos - Gearbox - synchromesh fault 3 Oct 2010 (Forum)
My 11 month old VW Eos 2.0 SE Tdi has a fault affecting the 5th gear synchromesh. The car was purchased new by me and has covered 8000 miles. My dealer proposes to remove the gearbox and replace the synchromesh. Is it normal to strip and repair or should I expect a replacement gearbox? -
Renault 5 - Buyanycar.com 9 Sep 2010 (Forum)
I think buyanycar.com's adverts are rather misleading. I wanted to get rid of my wife's Renault 5, old but in very good condition. There best offer was £50.00, however there is a £49.50 service charge, so I would have ended up with £5.00, if I was lucky. The answer is that they are really only interested in buying fairly new cars. -

trikes - what's the point? 28 Jul 2007 (Forum)
followed a big camper van yesterday, instead of the usual smartcar or micra, this one was towing a trike. It got me wondering what the point was: it's as wide as a car so no use for filtering through traffic. you sit low down so you get all the fumes you're exposed to the weather maybe I'm getting old -

SWMBO has a VW Touran 1.9TDi which is just one year old. Two weeks ago it had a service at the main dealers (with 3k miles from new). The computer on the dash now says "Service Now!" when she gets in the car and first starts it up. Is this indicating that the service was not done? -

BMW E39 clusters...more 20 Apr 2005 (Forum)
Seems that BMW USA have admitted to a problem with the 'leds' on these and give customers a fix service for $100, however old the car. BMW UK, however, are more interested in the state of their showrooms than their customers and offer no service at all. Just why do we put up with being pushed around like peasants in this country? -
Copy CD stuck - warranty implications 31 Mar 2005 (Forum)
Just wondered what your views were on a case where a copy music CD has become stuck in the CD drawer of a 10 month old car and the main dealer has refused to fix in under warranty. Presumably the lady friend of mine must have told them that it was a copy that she was playing. -
