SEAT Leon (1999 - 2005) - 03 1.9TDi Diesel Vibration 9 Dec 2009 (Forum)
HJ, My car is a 2003 Leon 1.9 TDI SE110 which I believe is quite old VW technology, but is it old enough not to have the infamous dual density flywheel issues? As the car approaches 70K miles it has a slight increase in the normal agricultural VW diesel vibes and was wondering if new engine mounts would help? -

Mot - can you still get 13 months MOT 8 Nov 2007 (Forum)
It used to be the case that if you took your car in for an MOT a month early and you took the old MOT with you, the testing station could issue you with potentally 13 months of MOT. Is this still the case with computerised MOT`s. Also would the same apply for a car which is 35 months old taken for an MOT. -

The old car had a good zip to it especially at 2K RPM; but the new car just feels asthmatic. It is 102K and has FSH. (Belts just done); -and is an estate. (The old one was a hatchback). Bother with an expensive service item on old car? 2 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Just thought I'd garner your opinions on whether it's worth messing around with an expensive preventative service measure on an old car. Specific example being our Daewoo, probably worth about £400 (Nubira, R-reg, 1.6SE manual saloon, 48K miles, no service record but in good overall condition, engine sweet as a nut, no rust anywhere, everything still works) -- if we don't get hammered due to lack of interest on such an undesirable car. -

Old Fiesta diesel - dying? 9 Dec 2004 (Forum)
But when I change up through the gears a bit soon, or negotiate sharp bends or roundabouts without changing down from third to second, the whole car just jerks and "kangaroos". To pull away I need to drop another cog. Should I be worried that I've spent my hard-earned on a car on it's last legs? Or is it just normal that this wheezy old torque-free lump can't pull itself along?
