  So this is progress ! DAB car radios , I have found have inferior sound to FM and most importantly constantly lose signal. The loss of a multi change CD player is also sadly missed. Electric handbrakes come next on my list of pet hates along with DPF shananagin s now on petrol as well as diesel cars.

  The wife's car has now come back to life ! However, the "War Department" is now unhappy as the radio now says "CODE" on the front and doesn't work. I found out how to take it out and have found a "Serial Number" V009917 Part Number 7s5t-18c815-da She is not happy and says that I will have to pay Ford to get it working :( I don't know why I bother.

  It can either glow a dull orange, or not. It doesn't display anything. It's clearly getting power, and the radio still works (and you can turn the display on/off using the "Dark" button on the radio). I have tried disconnecting the radio, and also removing the fuse for the MFD/Trip Computer/Steering Wheel controls, to no avail.

  Hi, have a 2003 Picasso and a occasional fault has appeared. Sometime when we start up the engine, the whole dashboard fails to light, no power going to radio or the hazard lights. Other times its fine. Fault only happens at start up. it never happens mid journey i.e. power never goes when its been working and engine is running. Any ideas, i had a look at the interior fusebox and it looks a mess behind all the cable looms.

  Hi all, A colleague has a '99 Megane Cabrio; a month or two ago, the display on the dash for the radio/temp info stopped lighting up. If the sun hits it at just the right angle then you can make out the display, but under normal conditions (and in the dark of course!) it just looks blank. Is it likely to be the backlight?

  Is it possible to change a car battery without the need to re-program radio/alarm etc. If you used say an Airflow Battery Conditioner on the disconnected live and earth cables before disconnection and during, would that be enough to hold the codes for the radio etc, reconnect the leads and then remove the Airflow cables, all codes intact???
