hyundai i40 - supermarket fuel VS branded long term test review 17 Mar 2016 (Forum)
this could probably be the most extensive test on the difference of supermarket fuel Vs branded. I wanted to see if I was paying over the auds using bp ultimate or if I could get the same results for 10p cheaper. I filled up with supermarket fuel, let it go to half a tank, filled up again and re-set my ecu. -

Ford Mondeo - '98 Ford Mondeo 1.8 Diesel not starting... 7 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I even looked for the fuel cut-off switch mentioned on petrol cars but there isn't one. I would run a wire to the fuel solenoid but it's inside the fuel pump housing and I can't reach it, I'd by-pass it but I don't know which of the three thin wires I'd need to bypass. -
Ford mondeo TDCi 53 Plate - Smell of fuel and smoke in engine bay 18 Oct 2010 (Forum)
This is near the fuel pump. There is also signs of moisture on the fuel pump around what looks like a drain back from the injectors as well as some near the fuel output pipe. If there is a leak what is the most likely culprit and why am i getting smoke when the engine is cold i.e nothing hot enough to burn the dripping diesel. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 95 1.9td fuel filter type swap??? 1 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Found fuel leaking behind starter motor, traced to the mounting bracket for fuel filter (where it bolts onto block with three bolts) When I pumped with the primar it literally gushed. Sooo, I took off the filter and housing, to see what gives after undoing the middle allen bolt (the long one) it became obvious this is a pre-heating device and that allen bolt has to seal in the housing to stop fuel leaking past....got a new bolt new copper washer..fine for a while then leak again..new metal gasket..........Peugeot guy at main dealers had asked me if i had the fuel filter housing with the holes in the bottom that allows the pre-heat to work when i went for bolts......which has led me to believe that some dont have this badly desiegned pre heat system....and if so are they interchangable??? -
Maximum miles from a tank of fuel 30 May 2008 (Forum)
Total mileage so far on the tank is 980 miles. Fuel light came on at 930 miles. Based on my current fuel economy of 69.1 mpg (trip computer accurate to 0.5 mpg), I think I could reach 1050 miles before running dry. Going to definitely take it up to 1000 miles so that I can tick it off the strange list of achievements that I want to achieve! -
"11% reduction in fuel duty...." 4 May 2008 (Forum)
I received an email from the government today, in response to an online petition I signed a while ago on fuel duty..... Wonder if it has anything to do with the pasting they got last night? The Government's policy is that fuel duty rates should rise each year at least in line with inflation. This supports the Government's effort to reduce polluting emissions and assists with the funding of public services. -
