Replacing my Audi Convertible 13 May 2024 (Forum)
Sadly my Audi A4 convertible died last weekend. The car was a 2009 final edition, one of the last A4 convertibles before the A5 came in. It had a 2.0 TFSi turbo petrol engine, good for around 200hp. Last Sunday when returning from the coast an enormous "Oil Pressure" warning flashed on the screen. it started running rough and I manged to pull in to the car park of a Halfords. -
Audi A3 - Spontaneous combustion 1 Feb 2023 (Forum)
As I left the supermarket I had a call from my wife. "Come home now, my car is on fire!" My wife's car is a 16 year old Audi A3 with the 1.9 TDi engine and has been fairly painless to own despite her driving mostly short journeys around rural lanes. She couldn't give me any more information as she was obviously pre-occupied with the potential conflagration. -
Audi A4 Avant - Adblue Range 31 Jan 2023 (Forum)
I will need to drive 210 miles back home, and then I have managed to book the car into a dealer 120 miles away (local Audi dealer saying - no appointments until the end of April......). In theory I should be OK then - i.e. I will have around 130 miles to spare. So my question is, if I set off with less miles than I know I need to get to this dealer, will the car keep driving, even if it runs out of adblue range, or will it literally stop once it counts down to zero, I assume this won't happen, although it could go into limp home mode, and reduce the power / speed, which will be a bit of a pain if I'm on the M6. -
Audi A4 Avant - Washer fluid 11 Mar 2021 (Forum)
I tried probing the nozzles (there are two) with a needle but to no avail so I booked the car into my Audi dealer. I have an extended warranty, so before you all experience a sharp intake of breath, in theory my costs would be limited to the excess. This morning I have been informed that the issue is more than blocked nozzles. -
Audi Cabriolet - Heater Matrix 12 Aug 2017 (Forum)
I own a final edition Audi Cabriolet 2.6 which I have enjoyed for the last 11 years. It has been maintained to a high standard, it has cost a lot of money over the years, but I have enjoyed it so much I don't mind, and when I listen to that V6 it sings. -
Audi TT - TT vs 2 series 29 Dec 2015 (Forum)
We'll keep our Honda Civic so the wife has a car and so that we have something more practical if needed. I test drove an Audi TT and pretty much fell in love with it - the only issues being that the rear seats are even less practical than I thought and there's a hell of a lot of options to get the car where I want it. I tried a BMW 2 series as well and was underwhelmed, especially at the dealer who seemed to really not care if I bought a car or not. -
Diesel Auto for under £4500, What would you buy? 25 Dec 2013 (Forum)
Her first choice is an 2003 onwards Audi A3 2.0 TDi DSG, great car wrong gearbox. Second choice is 2003 onwards Audi A4 1.9 TDi multitronic which again i like but its CVT Ive worked with Mercedes all my career and dislike older C classes because of there poor quality, rust issues and old mans image so we are running out of options! -
Audi A6 Avant 4.2 Quattro - Emissions warning light - catalytic problem? 15 Nov 2013 (Forum)
Audi A6 C6 2005 Avant Quattro 4.2 V8 (119000 miles) I have an emissions warning light that comes on with a fault code: 16814 - Catalyst System; Bank 2 - P0430 - 002 - Efficiency Below Threshold So far I have had a set of spark plugs, lambda sensors tested, new air mass meter, and still get the warning on after a couple of day's driving after fault reset by garage. -
Audi A4 B6 2.0 Fsi petrol 2003 - Cylinder head noises at startup 7 Nov 2012 (Forum)
I'm getting an intermittent clatter and/or chuffing/rubbing sound from the cylinder head on this 70,000m car. It has a full Audi service history before I bought it earlier this year, the oil, filter and cambelt have been changed in the last 6 months. The correct parts were used by an HJ recommended garage I have trusted for years. -
A6/A4 - Audi A6 or A4 Avant 7 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I can't do without turbos now from driving diesels. We will be looking at a 56/07 plate with high milage, ex fleet car with full Audi service history and timing belt changed ect ect. Does anyone have any experience of these cars? What are they like to drive, run and live with day to day? Are the diesels a better drive? I cant stretch to the 2.7 or 3.0 models and the 2.0 A6 seems way underpowered...... -
Audi A4 B6 - Breakdown costs over £2k AA Warranty not accepting 27 Jul 2011 (Forum)
It’s been just over a year i bought an Audi A4 The car suddenly cut the engine, it started again drove it and it cut again, I called RAC they said they could not find any faults in the OBD and they said to drive it home and they would follow us in case it broke down. -
Audi A4 Avant - Winter tyres - my experience so far 12 Feb 2011 (Forum)
A set on Ebay but the seller was dodgy in replies to enquiries, so following advice here, simply rang Audi. 15" steel rims in stock for £38 plus VAT. A bargain. Next the tyres. Looked at the reviews here then tried to find them. My local fitters "highly recommending" Vredestein quatrac 3s which they happened to have in stock but online reviews suggest this is an all season tyre rather than a specific low temperature (UK winter type) tyre. -
Audi A3 + S3 - Dealership servicing - Sump threads stripped. 2 Apr 2010 (Forum)
the service rep on the phone asked if anyone else had carried out work on the car (guess he's looking to pass the buck) but i replied only your dealership has ever carried out servicing. i'd expect the highly trained audi professionals to not screw up a simple oil change! the car is 7 years old and this is the fifth time the sump plug has been out (i have all the service receipts) and the last time it was out was at the same dealership so i assume it was their previous service technician that crossthreaded the plug in and decided not to use his integrity and report it! -
8 speed gear box. Enough? Audi A4 5 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I have been enjoying a few weeks in the sun. I got a free upgrade from a Passat / Accord / Volvo to an Audi A4 TFSI 1.8 CVT. This Multitronic / Tiptronic version had flappy paddles and EIGHT speeds to play with. I found the gearbox aspect to be very clever. Driving in auto, just a touch of either paddle and it switched out of auto and displayed 12345678 with its choice of gear highlighted. -
Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - 2002 1.9TDi Engine died and won't run right 14 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Hi, Looking for some assistance after my usually reliable Audi 1.9TDi failed today. Around a mile from home it started what felt like a misfire. I changed down and it cleared off and then approaching then next corner and dipping the clutch, the engine died. -
Audi A4 B6 (2001 - 2005) - 02 A4 ignition/ steering lock problem 22 Dec 2007 (Forum)
Clutching at straws I wondered if the spinning ignition was a security feature as it thinks the wrong key has been inserted? (Never tried the wrong key in an Audi ignition so dont know what it does). Any ideas how much for a new ignition barrel? Will a VAG specialist independant be able to code it to the car or is it main dealer only? Just tried to ring the local VAG indie but unsurprisingly they are not working today. -
What car should I buy 9 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I've got bored with my Audi A4. A string of minor incidents, two punctures, the quarter panel being keyed and the nearside wing being dented in a pub carpar in the feww weeks that I've been driving it have made me realise its not the car for me. -
£157 for an oil change! 6 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Audi's are great until you need to go near a dealer.
