  Can anyone help with this one?? As soon as I turn on the blower the air con comes on either if the air con button is lit or not. If I take out the fuse (45) from under the glovebox this stops it but it is not really practical to turn on and off this way!! Most peoples air con probs are no cold air trust me to get it the other way round......

  When the air con is selected there is a long sucking sound from under the dash before anything starts to happen. The air con then seems to continue with little sucks from time to time. I have also noticed that if the engine is turned off with the air con running there is a sound similar to a jet engine running down.

  2000 VW POlo gti 16v air con ,climate . Air blower will only blow hi or low not to a specific temp e.g 20 degrees (hot or cold nothing in between)you can hear heater flap open and close. Any ideas ?worth a visit to vw or independant air con specialist.

    We tried opening the windows a bit which seemed to ease the situation a little.  Having the windows almost fully open with the air con running was about the best we could come with, but seems to make air con almost pointless. Is there any way of reducing the drying effect of the air con or even adding some moisture somehow?

  I have just had my air con re-gassed however the air con is not coming on now at all - the light comes on but pump doesn't kick in. Any ideas? The outside temperature reading has broken and is reading -5 degress. Could this be affecting it?
