  • Honda CR-V - CRV 2008 Auto- Side indicator clicking noise 26 May 2014 (Forum)
Hello I was wondering if anyone else has a similar issue I have a Honda CRV 2.0 Petrol Automatic, 2008 model and every time I use the indicator lever to turn I hear the usual indicator noise being activated, but also I hear a clicking noise from the lever trying to disengage itself. This noise continues till I finish the turn (either left or right ) and indicator lever disengages itself.
  • FIAT 500 - axle corrosion 22 Jan 2014 (Forum)
Cost me £550; dealers carried recovery and part labour for goodwill that was otherwise seriously lacking from Fiat. I have photos. Was on verge of part-ex for new 500 automatic. Now lacking confidence. Any similar cases? Feel people need to keep an eye on their axle condition. Any comments/advice?
  • Comfortable & Quiet Crossover 28 Jul 2013 (Forum)
I am looking for a Crossover and here are my decision criteria in order of preference: Very comfortable ride, especially in London which is ridden with speed bumps and potholes Quiet Automatic (dual clutch or another 'lively' type of box) 9s max for 0-62mph (my current Seat Toledo TDI does just that and I would like to match or better it) Reliable   I don't care much about (although I could live with):  Handling (as long as it is not bad) Looks  Big wheels   So far I shortlisted: Skoda Yeti Elegance DSG 4x4 Mazda CX5 2.2d Volvo XC60 (although I'm not sure about their reliability)   Any pointers or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
  • Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe - Mercedes Classs Coupe Petrol or Diesel 3 May 2013 (Forum)
The extra cost of buying a diesel for the miles I do would take my about 10 years to get back in fuel economy but not too sure if getting a petrol with 80K on the clock is a good idea? I am looking at the Automatic versions C180 most likely although the C230 and C350 look nice. Any other ideas on what to avoid etc, I like the panoramic versions with the two tone interior. Cheers Richard
  • BMW530D SE - Excess Speed 58mph - 50mph 10 Jan 2013 (Forum)
I have a clean licence and have had this for 5 years+ unfortunately I committed a speeding offence on the Dartford crossing, i.e. 58mph in 50mph automatic camera zone   My question is whether it is normal to prosecute or whether a speed awareness course would be offered.   The notice received states that by "if you qualify for a speed awareness course this would have been sent to you" therefore as I received the notice I presume I have not qualified!
  • Has anyone got a 'Q' car? 6 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Estate would be fine, but not too big.Petrol or Diesel. The problem is that if you spec a decent engine with a new car you automatically get all the bling. Don't want a sheep in wolf's clothing! BTW, for those that are not of a certain age, the 'Q' stands for Question, as in what the ..... is that. I believe it was a term used in the 2nd WW for ships that looked liked Merchant Ships but were heavily armed, and gave the Germans a big surprise.
  • 05 Renault Espace 1.9 tdi - error messages after brake replacement 18 Jul 2012 (Forum)
We are due to go on holiday on 4 days and need the car to get us there! Is there a reset code or something that we need to enter after disconnecting the automatic parking brake? Thanks
  • Citroen C3 Picasso vs Skoda Yeti 29 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Mainly shorts hops to the supermarket, and IKEA with the occasional longer distance drive to Normandie or the South of France. (I live in France) The one Rule not to be broken: must be an automatic. The Skoda being from the VW group probably is probably the better made, it terms of quality of build, refinement, and quality of ride its also slighly larger offering a slight larger boot (405 liters vs 385).
  • Auto vs Manual Gearboxes -Curiosity Question 18 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I am in American living in France. Back home in the States almost  90% of our cars are with a automatic gearbox. It can be difficult to find a stick shift, espicially a new one, my own father had to make a special order to get one from toyota. In France its completely the opposite, its about 70-30 in favour of manuals.
  • Peugeot 205 - Car Insurance Renewals 31 Oct 2011 (Forum)
I received an email a week ago from my insurer AA advising that I could rest assured this renewal as their 'AA DEAL CHECKER' would automatically compare quotes from 20 leading insurers to combine the excellent benefits of AA Insurance with a great price. This week my renewal notice arrived from AA with a quote which was about 50% higher than last year.

Hi guys. I've got a 99 Jeep grand cherokee 4.7 automatic. I have recently have had no end of bother with the binding brake on both of front brakes. It seems ok once you start off everday but it gradually starts to get worse the further that you drive.
  • vw caddy maxi life - Winter motoring 4 Jun 2011 (Forum)

  • Ford Fiesta (1995 - 1999) - 1996 1.25 auto - Stalling problem 2 May 2011 (Forum)
I have just purchased a second hand N reg 1996 Fiesta Zetec 1.25 LX Automatic. I have only been driving it a few days but it has stalled 3 times. It stalls after turning the engine on and trying to put it into drive. The way I have to press the brake in to put the car into drive is very different to my hubbys Renault Laguna RT (R Reg).
  • Renault grand scenic AUTO - Need to find someone who has a demonstrator 1 Mar 2011 (Forum)
I'm looking at replacements now,  but the Renault dealer has told me he has NO chance of getting hold of an automatic for a test drive. I only have an auto licence,  and as I'm short & disabled,  I really need to test drive a vehicle, to make sure I can reach/see everything comfortably before I commit to a 3 yr lease I'm interested in the 1.5 dci auto,  but any auto will do, as driving position/internal layout are more important than engine to me at this point.
  • BMW X3 - Multiple problems 27 Jan 2011 (Forum)
My November, 2007 (51) X3 SE Diesel Automatic, owned since 6 months old has done 36.000 miles and has been serviced as per manufacturers instructions.   The following warning lights came on at the same time today: 4x4, ABS, Brake system, Tyre pressure, Air bag; in addition, the speedometer and cruise control do not work and the mileage remaining from the current fuel tank contents moves erratically.
  • Licence entitlement after a re-test 3 Sep 2010 (Forum)
I know I have to do the theory and a longer test to get my licence bac. However, if I take the car test and pass, do I automatically get my full bike licence back or do I have to retake that as well?  Does seem unfair if I do as I only had one accident and it was in a car. Do have a copy of my old paper licence, though it is a black and white scan.
  • Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 05 1.6 TDCi cam belt tensioning 4 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I have done this on other vehicles without difficulty but can find no reference to use of a tension measurement tool in the Haynes manual (Aug 2009 edition). They imply that the engine's automatic tensioner will set the tension correctly and it does not need checking. Is this right or a major oversight in the manual? FWIW I can find no mention in this manual of the use of a fault code reader.
  • KIA Forte LPI (2009 - ) - Just rented one 15 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Nicely built, comfortable and stylish interior that was easy to use, drove very well and appeared to be quite economical for an automatic. Being a three box saloon it may not come to the UK, but it wil be another winner from the Koreans if it does.
