Veggie oil 6 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Anyone see the diesel running on Vegetable oil on last nights TV show? It was great! The only modification required was to route the fuel line near some heat (provided by the cooling hoses) to thin the veggie oil a bit. -
Ford mondeo TDCi 53 Plate - Smell of fuel and smoke in engine bay 18 Oct 2010 (Forum)
This is near the fuel pump. There is also signs of moisture on the fuel pump around what looks like a drain back from the injectors as well as some near the fuel output pipe. If there is a leak what is the most likely culprit and why am i getting smoke when the engine is cold i.e nothing hot enough to burn the dripping diesel. -

Petrol station - reluctance to serve 26 Nov 2009 (Forum)
Took the works van to a petrol station in snip (no naming and shamming) at 2am for full tank of diesel for a nice old jolly to skipton. Got to station found it had a closed sign but there were taxis filling up at the pumps, so i parked the van up in line and the attendent said no fuel were empty! -
Garage pump accuracy? 30 Mar 2004 (Forum)
The other day I bought an indicated 20 litres of diesel in a jerry can for the boat I am restoring. To calibrate the dipstick in the new fuel tank I very carefully measured it into the tank 5 litres at a time, using an old antifreeze container that had a clear view stripe and was calibrated in litres. -
Diesel reliability HDI technology 29 Jun 2007 (Forum)
Having read the many post on the tales & woes of diesel I can understand how some are disilutioned. I do however wonder how many people have made the transition from petrol to diesel without any real understanding or knoledge of a diesel engine. I have run loads of CRI vehicles including the infamous 2.0tdci to very high milage without any problems at all. -

Hyundai Santa Fe 2.0 Diesel 2004/5 - Intermittent Fault - black smoke and loss of power 20 Aug 2015 (Forum)
Garage said new diagnostics test showed "No Faults". They suggested perhaps a problem with dirt in the fuel (diesel, by the way). This weekend, I changed the air filter and the fuel filter under the bonnet and, although I did a 100 mile round trip on the motorway yesterday with no problem, today the problem has reared its ugly head once again. -
Volkswagen Golf V (2004 - 2008) - Gazole - Yes or No? 17 May 2008 (Forum)
m about to go on holiday to France again and was going to fill up with Gazole while I was out there, BUT when I filled up at my local station yesterday I noticed (for the first time!) that on the fuel filler-flap it states that I should NOT use Bio-diesel or Gazole. I?m now confused as to whether I can or can?t use it, I have a VW Golf 2.0 TDI (2006) which I thought would have been setup to accept this kind of fuel. -
VW Polo alarming diesel knock 10 Jul 2006 (Forum)
Hi, I've a real puzzler with my 1998 Polo diesel. It has a 1.9D AEF engine with a Lucas mechanical pump with accelerator cable that has now covered 105k miles. The starting symptoms which are rapidly getting worse are:- when the engine turns over there is an alarming knocking sound and the whole engine rocks violently. -

Ford Mondeo III LX strange power loss - Strange power loss!! 11 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Hi Everyone, Will try and keep it brief with just the facts as have noticed other people with the same issue but more on diesel models. I recently purchased a 04 Ford Mondeo LX 1.8. While driving on the motorway i have noticed that when the fuel gauge gets to a quarter tank the car starts to loose power and splutter forcing me down the gears to a final stop. -
KIA Sedona - One squirt from the injectors then it stops 11 May 2010 (Forum)
We then disconnected the electrical connection to the immobilier unit on the fuel pump, to see if that would stop the spraying. It did but once we had reconnected it, it would no longer spray as before. If we bleed the fuel pipe so that we have fuel to the top of the injector then we turn the engine over and get one large spray and no more. -
VAG speedo and fuel gauge problem 30 Apr 2004 (Forum)
I am experiencing a problem aver the last few days with an octavia Firstly the speedo started to fluctuate then it stopped completely once it stopped then the fuel gauge started to fluctuate I found one of the injectors leaking diesel which flowed onto the speedo sensor so i fixed the leak and cleaned the engine thoroughly. nothing improved so i am after replacing the speedo sensor with a brand new one, this has not helped either i am begining to think it is a wireing fault ie a bad earth. and that the fuel leak wasnt to blame for the problem also i have noticed recently that the car will chuck at low revs when this happens it will go away if u accelorate harder so i only see the problem when driving in slow traffic Has anyone seen this before ar have any ideas what could be causing it.
