• Citroen C4 Picasso 5-st (2007 - ) - New car specification confusion 13 Feb 2008 (Forum)
  I've been checking out the Citroen C4 Picasso for the last couple of weeks and visited a local Citroen showroom to look closer at it. I really like it and took a test drive today and have decided to buy one. I have haggled hard with the salesman and got the price reduced to £13065 from the list price of £16755.

  Surely if there is an anti-pollution filter, this hsould have been changed duirng any of the various regular services the car has had done at the same garaage - a Citroen recognised garage. I have lodged a complaint/enquiry with Citroen and 8wks. later and several phone calls I am still waiting for their reply following their investigations. I am out of pocket nearly 1K at a time of life (now retired) when I can ill afford this sort of unscheduled problem and also added anxity over potential unreliability of my vehicle when i have an unwel husband and rely on my car to get to doctors, specialits, etc.

  Hi, I wonder if anyone might be able to offer me some advice. Despite having liked Citroens for quite some time (my favourite car as a child quite bizarrely being the XM), I have only recently ventured into the world of citroen ownership, with a 2000 Xantia 1.8 16v petrol in LX trim - I would have prefered a diesel but the petrol model that I came across and subsequently bought was a steal - and in fantastic condition.

  BTW, no complaints with the main dealer service. Should I consider myself lucky that I got some concession from Citroen or would it be fair to say that the ecu (and the coil spring) were not fit for purpose as they are not designed to be replaced in such a short time? all opinions gratefully received.   Can anyone please advise on what's the average cost of these repairs (parts + labour) to pass MOT?   ok so I'm currently looking into buying a cheap run around car and I've come across an 03 citroen saxo desire 1.1L for £325. The car looks in great shape and has been well looked after. The problem though is that it has no MOT and hasn't done since November 2020. Now I've been in touch with the seller he has told me there are 3 problems with the car. 1. he has replaced the wiper motor as it wasn't working but says there must be another problem because the wipers will not run if there's any resistance. 2. he says that the rear left hand brake isn't engaging as well as it should. doesn't know why but says he can feel it. 3. there's a loose bolt connecting the drivers seat to the floor and he says it's possible the floor could be cracked but doesn't know.

    So after contacting them about there article and getting nowhere I want to ask if anyone in the forum has any idea where I can obtain these items, Citroen Customer Care did not know about this problem of springs failing and did not know of any device to combat this problem, there must be hundreds if not more that this has happened to.  So your forum is my last bet, hopefully someone must have heard of these or know where I can obtain them, they are just a cup that goes around the strut held together with 10 mm bolts.

  Hi all. I have a problem with a Citroen relay 2.2. The one with the transit engine. Month or so ago the egr cooler failed and it flooded the engine. Garage it was recovered to initially though got it was head gasket but after removing head they discovered that wasn’t the case.

  I have what has been up to now a very reliable Citroen Xsara Picasso - Deisel (milage 108890) - It now has a few issues, EGR valve (been cleaned once already), Clutch is high and going, NS Hbrake caliper need renewing as does back brakes, and the timing belt will be due at 150000.

  Hi, I Bought a Citroen C3 2002 1.4 with head gasket failure. The battery wasn't too clever when I bought it but during my time of repair it went flat. Fixed all the headgasket problem, went to start it, and it turns over but won't fire up.

  Hi Looking a bit of help please! Have a 2005 reg Citroen Picasso 2.0l diesel, only 50k on the clock, About a year ago the engine management lit came on randomly after driving perfectly to our local garage (garage was ouR main Peugeot dealer) and they found several faults and replaced sensors.

   Also, it obviously loses quite a bit of water and if I don't top it up often the temp warning light comes on. (For some reason Citroen don't have a temp gauge on these models, just a warning light.) In order to chuck it in as a part-ex or through Suresell, do any of you lot know of a way to temporarily fix this, for example by pouring some kind of gunk into the coolant?

  The connector cannot be sufficiently well waterproofed. Seems to affect Picassos from 2004." I have contacted Citroen UK but they say, sorry but we can't help since the car is more than 3 years old (it's 3 1/2 year old, 04 reg). Any ideas where I go from here? I wonder were honestjohn.co.uk got the information about the ECU problems from, would be useful to know?

  I recently had some work done on my car by a main Citroen dealership to cure a knocking noise at the front when going over uneven ground.   They diagnosed it as worn suspension ball joints.  The work was done and I paid up, but the car is no different.

  Hi, Have a real headache here. 1999 Citroen C15D RHD 1769cc van. On journey, suddenly van loses all power and rolls to halt on country road. Try starting it , nothing!. Lift bonnet, check cables to battery, fry my fingers. Realise positive battery feed wire has come up against sharp bodywork and has earthed it.

  Hello all, just wondering what the general opinion is on the following issues I'm having with a Berlingo bought a week ago from a Citroen main dealer. It's low miled at 36,000 exceptionally clean inside etc. I bought it took it home then after a few days noticed colour deviations in the paintwork, which I'm now finding unacceptable to look at.

  Hi everyone, I'm after some advice... I've a problem with my Citroen ZX (92J 1360 (carb)) that's got me a bit flummoxed. The problem began when I pulled into a parking space - it stalled suddenly just before I stopped. After that it hasn't run at all. I've checked the ignition and it seems to be sparking OK, so my initial though was that it must be fuel.

  Citroen Xsara 1.4 2000MY mark 1, 115k miles on the clock Im having a strange problem where by when at idle every 10 seconds or so i can feel a small vibration coming through the steering wheel and the car- although no passengers have mentioned anything, also the exhaust sounds like it is missing every few seconds, also the engine is moving ever so slightly, so im guessing the movement in the engine is causing the problem.

  For nearly two months our 130k miles C3 diesel has been randomly not starting from cold. It spins over perfectly, just don't fire up. Been to the Citroen dealer twice - first time injector seals and various pipes were renewed. Ran fine for a while then refused again. Towed back to the dealer who found a string of permanent faults on the computer, wiped them and it started fine again.

  Car is booked into M/Dealer for a repair later this month, would I have any chance of appealing to Citroen for a partial refund citing just 20,000 miles since replement of components? Any advice or best guesses would be gratefully received
