syntak - Fuel Treatment proven to reduce harmful emission l 25 Jun 2012 (Forum)
This method determines the fuel consumed while measuring the specific carbon in the raw fuel and comparing that to the carbon content in the exhaust stream. The CMB procedure is internationally recognized by all of the leading test facilities in the world. With this process, fuel consumption can be more accurately determined devoid of any outside influence from weather changes, driver changes, load differences, tire pressure differences, fuel density changes, etc. -

Vauxhall Vectra B 1998 unleaded 1.8 ecotec - is car due to go to sc*** heap, misfiring, wont run 11 Aug 2010 (Forum)
I could not drive car over 30 miles per hour. the car judders, i would say, impossible to drive. When it was in its juddering stage, i found if i pulled out slightly, one of the ht leads and wiggle, the engine would rev up, then be fine. now, when you wiggle it, it revs up, but still goes straight back to how it was. ok, i had new spark plugs fitted, full set. new coil pack fitted. -
MINI One D R50 2005 1.4D - Alternator gets every hot even with ignition off 5 Jul 2010 (Forum)
However, yesterday he parked it on the drive and went back out to it about 10 minutes later and it would not start - nothing, battery was flat. I connected jump leads to it from my car and we couldn't get it to jump either - whilst the ignition lights came on they were flashing on and off and and we couldn't get the engine to turn - just the solenoid click. -
Tales of revenge. 3 Dec 2009 (Forum)
' Pull the bonnet catch and switch off ' said I. ' It doesn't sound right ' ' Sit in the car and keep the clutch depressed for me '.........give him something to do ! Next step, I pulled off the five HT leads and knotted them all together in a big ball which I tucked under the headlight, scribbled 'No money, don't fix ' on a scrap of paper, he couldn't see me from in the car, put the bonnet down and said 'It should be alright now ' Drove away, did a U turn and passed him desparately turning the engine over. -
Vauxhall Astra F (1991 - 1998) - 94 1.4 non starter 10 Aug 2009 (Forum)
Did 50 miles like this and then started to think what trouble could be. Seemed like bad plugs or leads and replaced these, slight improvement. Left the car for a few days and tried again, now MUCH better! In fact almost right! Thought that I just might have a slight inlet manifold leak and retorqued the nuts. -
Ford Fiesta (2002 - 2008) - 03 1.4 Overheating - now problems 27 Jun 2009 (Forum)
t there before; no other symptoms or fault codes. I have changed the plugs to no avail, coil pack and leads changed last summer. Can anyone offer any insight here before I go wasting money replacing random parts? I?m looking for a cheapish fix if possible! Also (it?s a digital dash display for temp) why didn? -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 2003 1.8 TDCi - will not start poor fuel delivery? 1 Jan 2008 (Forum)
Now desperate (as is dealer) can anyone say if they might have found this issue.??? Everyone says its a fuel delivery issue, in fact twice the RAC managed to start it with jump leads (battery woirn flat) and easystart in air filter inlet. Even a Ford Field engineer couldnt bottom this when it was in the ford dealers for 5 weeks once in June/July 2007. all electrics checked and like I said new fuel pump, new PCM, new battery new crankshaft sensor, yet still once in a while it resues to fire up, turns over perfectly Ok just wont actually fire up like I say RAC men say its fule delivery. -
And I thought life was getting boring...... 18 Nov 2007 (Forum)
It took a few seconds to put the handbrake on and get my seatbelt off but I then found myself instinctively leading the assailant back to his car, not before he tried to hedbutt the other lad, I don't know if he made contact or not, but I was extremely focused on getting said lout back into his car. I told him in no uncertain terms to get back into his car with one hand on his shoulder and the other opening his car door. -
Help me choose-Large Diesel engine Q Barge! 16 Oct 2007 (Forum)
may not be an issue, however has brilliant handling and more than adequate power and torque..Disadvantages a mite too flash and provokes resentment from all other drivers-experienced it well in my test drives with the 320d! Audi A6 3 litre -230 Bhp , has a manual option ,perhaps handling may not be as class leading as the BMW , however as this has 4 wheel drive, this may not be as significant. Prefer a manual stick, although wouldn't mind an auto.. Merc E classes -not much info however are Mercs a bit too flash, too much attention provoking. -
Wifes got a parking FPN- an point in appealing 18 Sep 2007 (Forum)
Wonder if this had any bearing on them being allowed to park right on the junction causing an obstruction. The road itself is a quiet residential cul de sac, leading to other cul de sacs just to set the scene. By the time she came back to the car, the entire side of the road she parked on was lined with cars. PS really hard to stay objective writing this and not going off into a rant. -
Random starting problems with MK3 Fiesta 10 Aug 2007 (Forum)
However twice since changing the oil (twice in 3 weeks) the car has refused to start for no apparant reason. The battery, coil pack, HT leads are all healthy and it was getting a spark. I removed the air filter and turned the key for a constant 5 minutes (I am aware this is doing the starter and battery no good) and both timed it finally started after a loud of back fires and huge amounts of black smoke coming out the back. -

The BBC once again came to Hugh as their choice of Driving Expert, relying upon his unrivalled reputation as the country's leading high performance coach. His calm yet authoritative approach and his passion for encouraging people in the art of safe, enjoyable driving would be the perfect contrast with the subjects of the programme. -
Fiat Uno and LRP 17 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Up til now she has been able to buy LRP locally to her (Wirral) but the source has now stopped stocking it and she can't find anywhere else within reach. I have said that she should be able to buy Castrol or some other lead replacement additive from Halfords (though I am not sure) and add that to her petrol at each (rare) fill up but the thoughts occurs that a) I am not sure that the engine requires LRP petrol - though I presume it does (Google has not helped with a definitive answer) b) would much damage be done to the valve seats at the mileage she does or would the exclusively short journeys make the problem worse? -
Mondeo TDCi CR pump info 8 Nov 2006 (Forum)
The damage is caused by insufficient bedding of the rollers during early life. This also creates metallic particles which can enter the high pressure fuel system and lead to injector failure. To rectify this concern, a revised fuel pump, new injectors and associated parts should be installed. If this concern is present, it may be indicated by a flashing glow plug indicator showing that a fault has been detected. -
Mercedes B-class at 5000 miles 16 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Wipers, although clap-hands, set up for LHD in that the offside one is shorter than the nearside and parks under it, leading to a wide unwiped area next to the driver's A-pillar. These may seem minor but are surprisingly irritating. Greenoaks have tried their best on the second and third of these, but it's all fixed immovably by the factory. -
Got a TomTom ONE; special offer this w/e 1 Jun 2006 (Forum)
Not legal, not fun, but best of a bad set of options :( Then, to add the fun, here was a diversion, the signs for which abandoned me at another roundabout (they are big on roundabouts in thse parts), leading to a half hour of guessing my way around backroads with the help of my inadequate road atlas. Finally made it to my destination, and then got lost three times at 11pm trying to get out of Sheffield. -
"Medical" vans 25 Aug 2005 (Forum)
The words "Urgent Medical" were written on the back door of the van, but in stylised sign writing which leads me to believe that this was some kind of private courier. Could this be right? I wondered what the legal status of these vans are. I don't believe that anyone has the right to drive in this manner on our roads, even with flashing blue lights. -
Zut Alors - 306 rain gutter rust 6 Jul 2005 (Forum)
This face of the U is simply flush with the roof, and the other carries an inverted U section rubber seal that mates with the doors. The rain then gathers in the bottom of the U and runs to the A, B, or C pillar where it is lead away. The rust has extended down the entire height of the side of the U that is gripped by the rubber channel, and is but a millimetre or so from eating in to the roof itself (which is presumably much better protected with zinc etc so should rust more slowly if it rusts at all) So, what to do? -
Racing weights - Jense's close call 26 Apr 2005 (Forum)
(It was actually exactly the finest tolerance certified) We thus learned the hard way that a wet weather kart was 1.2KG lighter than in dry race trim, and from them on carried a tobacco tin with lead melted inside to bolt on the back of the chassis (to help traction), whenever racing in the rain!
