Mercedes Warranty 4 Feb 2004 (Forum)
He recently took it in for them to investigate a knocking in the steering. They told him that he needs a new steering column. The car had a replacement steering column only 18 months ago and so he thought that it would be covered by the Mercedes 2 year warranty on all their parts. However the dealer has stated that they will not replace the steering column under warranty because the steering column is in fact a warranty replacement and doesn't qualify! -
Audi 80 temperature gauge 2 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Please forgive me if this problem has been covered before as I have been told it is a common problem with this car. My 1994 Audi 80 2.0E type B4 ABK engine has a temperature guage that works intermittently. I have replaced the sender but this has made no difference. -
Cyclists - what if....? 16 May 2003 (Forum)
I doubt they have cycle insurance to cover such eventualities. Is it simply a case of sending them a bill? If so, what if they refuse or are unable to pay? What if it is a child that causes the damage? They will have no means to pay. This is all hypothetical. -
MB warranty question 27 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I've been offered a 2001 vehicle which was originally supplied as an import. It's around £3000 less than equivalent UK-supplied car. Looks a bargain. Question is, what about warranty? UK supplied Mercs have 3-year warranty, but only manufacturer's portion of that will apply to import. Does anyone know whether the MB warranty splits 2yrs manufacturer/1yr dealer (in which case I'd probably have a few months left) or the other way round (1yr M, 2yr D), in which case I'd be out of warranty cover from day 1? -
dud puma 2 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I own a 1.7 zetec engined Ford Puma in which I have covered 34000 miles since I bought the car new in March 2000. It came with the standard 1 year warranty. which has since been increased on this model to three years. I recently experienced a catastrophic engine failure (whilst cruising at 50mph in top gear) while I was on business several hundred miles from home. -
Update on 306 woes 2 Dec 2001 (Forum)
We took the car into a halfords/aa garage. (Are these people any good?) and the guy there said he reckoned the noise is coming from the top end, so this weekend i'm going to open up the rocker cover and check for play in the camshaft. -
Autoglass 29 Sep 2001 (Forum)
I recently had a new windscreen fitted to my car. £50 from myself the rest I thought was to be met by my insurance. I got a verbal quote for the work of £170, when the work was completed they left a recipt saying £288. My insurance company have refused to pay up (Im not covered, my fault) and I have just recieved a bill from autoglass for over £400 for the same work as knocked back by my insurance company. -

The spring that went was passanger side and the one next to the washer fluid reservoiur but the wheel arch cover should protect it. Tucson or Sportage? 6 May 2016 (Forum)

Services - extravagant or just plain sensible 24 Apr 2016 (Forum)
Each year it was given a full service, not an interim one at all, even though annual mileage was between 7,000 and 11,000. I will waxoyl or bilt hamber the underside, and envisage keeping the car several years. I expect to cover no more than about 11,000 miles each year. The plan is to have the car serviced, with a full service each year at my garage, and get a mechanic friend to change the oil and filter inbetween at about 5,500 miles. -
Honda Jazz - Warrenty Claim or not 9 Jan 2014 (Forum)
I can only assume that this is as a result of a small hole/crack/ failure in the seals. As the car is still under Honda warrenty I asked if this was covered by the Honda warrenty. I was told no as the shockers hadn't failed and could last many thousand of miles before failure. As I see it the seals have failed and we are only talking about the degree of failure. -

E46 Coupe - water in fuse box and footwell 27 Oct 2013 (Forum)
Hhhmm, dare I risk trying to get the A pillar cover off, bearing in mind there's an airbag in there? Not sure what I would find / be able to do re fixing a leak? Is there a sealant inside maybe? The car doesn't have a sunroof - Googling shows a lot of people get leaky sunroof drains. -

Mini Cooper S R56 - Mini Cooper S - Timing Chain Failure 8 Mar 2013 (Forum)
Last week the timing Tensioner has had a catistrophic failure and has subsequently seized the engine. The car now needs a new engine! How can a five year old car, with 44,000 miles on the clock and cost over £22,000, need a new engine! BMW have refused to cover anything. I have taken legal advice and been advised to fight. -
Ford Mondeo 2.0l Duratec LX 53 plate - Low rev judder 1 Oct 2010 (Forum)
Hi all, apologies if this has been covered elsewhere... Got this car a couple of weeks ago and it's generally good but got a problem and I'm none too technical, hoping for some advice... The engine has a judder in low revs like it's gonna stall, usually around 1500/2500 rpm.
